"Equally, we have to respect the wishes of those people who do want to buy it."

Erm, why? Are they obligated to sell me anything I want? Does that mean that if I go there and order, say, Tesco Own-Brand Marmite, they have to respect my wishes?

Or you can go in and ask for the most disgusting vile thing and they would sell it?

    They are missing the point

To most of their customers it is the equivalent and they are willing to hand that under the counter. Imo there could well be a picket shortly and the shop closed.

The point is that the said they weren't selling it, when in fact they were, and their reason for doing so is nonsense. Even if they do stop selling it again, it'll be to stop losing business rather than any sort of principles, as by selling the paper anyway they,ve already implicitly said that they don't believe in the boycott, but will lie about it. And as you say, on a subject this emotive, this could lose them a lot of customers.

At least 50 people have been killed and another 200 have been wounded in a mass shooting at a Las Vegas concert.

A gunman, named as 64-year-old local resident Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air music festival.

He was shot dead by officers in the hotel where a number of guns were found.

The attack is the worst mass shooting in recent US history.

Sheriff Joe Lombardo described the shooting as a "lone wolf" attack. He added that police were now confident they had located a woman, earlier named as Marilou Danley, who was suspected of travelling with the gunman before the attack.

Sheriff Lombardo said he was unable to give accurate details of dead and wounded, but confirmed two off-duty police officers were among those killed.

A local hospital spokesperson said earlier that at least 14 of the injured were in a critical condition.

There had been reports of other incidents at different locations along the Las Vegas strip, but police said those reports were false.

The state does not ban assault weapons, which are automatic or semi-automatic firearms, and there are no limits on buying ammunition there.

Shows how terrorists are doing it all wrong. Idiot gunmen almost always end up killing way more people than the terrorists who make the cockamamie bombs.

Instead of exotic bomb making material that lead the feds straight to your door, just use a gun. Simple but effective. (Obviously I'm glad they're not doing that... Just saying they miss the obvious solution).

Perhaps the event that caused the most real terror in the US for general population, not just those caught in the nasty ground zero... The DC sniper. People around the capitol were all terrified to go out.

I hate guns. Of course after every mass shooting the gun nuts always say "now's not the time to discuss gun control"... Of course it feels like we're ALWAYS just after a mass shooting,.so when is the time?
