How Sissoko is it that he used a Getty Images photo rather than any of the ones the club had tweeted out?

Most would agree with this in the main CK., but I find it extremely amusing that Davies plays a handful good games and all of a sudden (as if by magic) he is comprehensively an 'all round' better player then Rose. Begs the question, what have you been watching for the past two/three seasons.

Davies is indeed a good player, of that there is no rebuttal., but as a straight comparison to Rose at his best at Spurs,..... my humble opinion says 'there is no comparison'. No disrespect to Davies.

Or are we to now judge the ability of professional footballers by their verbal and written communication off the pitch.

I believe they are. The past few games the white stripes tune has been sung quite loudly...but Dembele isn't the surname of choice.

Above all, Spurs fans admire effort and passion. Sure we like flair but decades of watching teams collapse into fairy dust taught us a harsh lesson. The goal was so typical Sissoko but who knows? Maybe he'll get a confidence boost from it and go on to score 20 <laugh>

I just think the guy realised that everyone wanted shot of him..thats why he was a bit prickly when he said people dont have to follow him on Twitter. I felt as though he was done mentally with us and vice versa. This season has been a pleasant surprise....obviously we all know its because it's World Cup year...but the guy can be an asset for us..after all, he scores when he wants.....Moussa Sissoko..scores when he wants....

It's already more than a handful of games though BS (great initials btw ;)). Davies has been consistently superb since the start of the season. As he approaches his peak, his level increases visibly and to suggest that Rose was better than this at the age of 24 is baffling. Give Davies a few more years playing like this with poch coaching him and he could well be the best LB in the country.

I'm a massive fan of Danny's despite all that was said and done over the summer. But I have seen nothing from Ben in the past 6 months to suggest that Mr Malcontent should just waltz back into the team.

2 goals and 4 assists is an incredible rate of contribution for a full back not noted for his attacking prowess, and one that would be getting a heck of a lot more attention if he wore a red or sky blue kit.

Danny may be the superior athlete, but Ben plays with a finesse and intelligence that the former's impressive collection of injuries and yellow cards would suggest he sorely lacks.

The form Davies is in right now is arguably the best any of our fullbacks under Poch have been.

In his 6 league games, he's got 2 goals and about 2 or 3 assists (along with many other chances created), a striker or a winger would be happy with those statistics let alone a full back who's also remained very solid at the back.

There's no doubting that when Rose and Walker were playing we had an exciting bit of pace about the side but Davies is steadily proving something I've been trying to say for a while in that pace isn't the be all and end all of a good player/ good fullback.

If Ben maintains this sort of form, we'd be ridiculously stupid to drop him once Danny returns. There's also very high possibility that Rose won't even be at his best this season, he's been injured for ages, had zero pre-season and will be coming back into a side who are beginning to fire on all cylinders while he'll be looking to build up match fitness. Having Danny back as an option will be great, even if his comments really did royally piss me off but I highly doubt he'll regain his place anytime soon so long as Ben remains fit and maintains form.

  9. I'm the one who quoted 'all round' better LWB and I stand by that.
Rose was always likely to be first choice 14/15, 15/16 and first half of last season as he was a more experienced PL player and offered more going forwards. However, he was often caught out defensively - and far more often than his predecessor Benny, who was completely castigated for an occasional slip.
Davies is now an established international LWB and CB and statically is the match for Danny Rose as an attacking force, even if he's a half yard slower. This hasn't happened overnight, but Roses continued absence plus his ill-advised comments (compared to Davies professionalism) have undoubtedly sped that along - not least in Poch's own thoughts.
I personally hope that Rose makes a fast return from injury to provide a real option at LWB, but for me, I prefer the package that Ben offers.

We are looking for the collective package from the
squad Spurbacks. Speed, good defence, good
crossing and as many goals as possible.

To have a "horses for courses" choice is good,
but to still contribute significantly when you play
and you are not best in the all of the above, is
    better.

Here is a comment from Aaron Flanagan of The Mirror about Kane and Spurs.

He's in the same bracket as Sergio Aguero, Robert Lewandowski and Luis Suarez. The only reason that we are not all saying it is because he plays for Tottenham - whose status deserves a bit more respect."

    Well said, sir!...

When one thinks of skillful football you think of Spurs. When you think of TV you think of Man U
..When you think of horn blowing you think of Chelsea.
When you think of Arsenal you think of the Woolwich Ferry.

An interesting article in The Telegraph adding to the Ben Davies v Danny Rose debate.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/10/01/ben-davies-showing-spurs-benefits-danish-education/

I think that the DoF will be gone next summer. Money's calling him 'up north' and he's at his peak in terms of saleability right now, if he gets fit. We could use the money we get for him to buy at least one Sessegnon and pay for most/all of Barkley. That's too good a deal for us to pass up right now.

So, Ben will get to battle it out with another class act next season as well. It's the Mauricio Pochettino way. Nice and stable in the centre and the full backs fighting it out like a pair of angry polecats sewn in a sack.
