23rd September QPR 0 Burton Albion 0 26th September Burton Albion 0 Aston Villa 4 30th September Burton Albion 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers 4 Nothing more to say I fear!
Need a win soon to stop the rot. Playing well by all accounts but the goals have dried up. Fear is that confidence wanes, performances suffer and the downwards spiral continues.
I don't see your point. Villa and Wolves are far bigger, richer clubs than us. Yeah we should beat Burton at home more often than not but they beat Fulham the week before.
We're in a relegation battle plain and simple. We just have to hope team spirit and hard work is enough to cover for lack of quality and a porous defence...
Exactly. Nothing like fear and scapegoating from the fans and the owners to utterly destroy the feel good factor and for Tony to pull the trigger once again. After all Redknapp is now surely available for one last hurrah and Tone can moan how his trust has been abused ......this time by Sir Les. Have faith. We will get back on the winning trail soon enough. We are inches away from starting a run of hammering sides left right and centre
QPR 2 -1 hull city Aston villa 1-1 hull city Hull city 2-3 wolves That's championship football for ya!
The results are the same or slightly worse than last year, the difference is that most of our expectations are more realistic and there is a different, better, feel about the team. It’s nice to be in a more tolerant mood. We actually like our keeper and midfield, can see that the defence has been decimated by injury, our major gripe is about the lack of goal scorers. Nevertheless we are not far off the QPR managerial killing fields of November and we need a few points soon.
By the way, did you remember to plan for your funeral yet? Oh, and also... have you made that underground bunker for the armageddon yet?
Nah it's only our results that count. We know on any given day anyone can beat anyone in this league. Agree we need a win just to arrest the slight slump but surely we aren't at panic stations yet.
1st Fulham goal just plain lucky. Great spirit to get one back and on another day Smithies might have put it away. We're about a qtr done with 13 points so on current for about 52 to 55 which hopefully will be more than enough. I think we will improve as injuries return e.g. Hall.
Anyone trying to make sense out of the championship has a tough ask imo We have the minerals to improve We look to have a set of players and management that care I can only see improvement even without what I see is our strongest 11 Only thing I feel is certain is that my former 5a side team mate Solomon coached by my best friend and with his wonderful parents also good friends will soon make his full England debut Still not as good as his dad but the amount of pride felt by everyone is immense and he is playing today at the Emirates albeit getting thrashed
Can’t say too much on here but suffice as to say behind the scenes preparations are ongoing GS has a massive amount of admiration for Solly It’s going to happen as his personal stats are strong again As for clubs Solly rejected massive moves this summer simply out of loyalty. CH is currently repaying that commitment he is first on team sheet at the moment The PR side is also very progressive Seems only yesterday that we were all doing 20yd chip ins beach waste baskets on local French beach Funny thing football as my youngest son then was centre mid for the East Sussex boys and a great player now he is 15 stone but a solid QPR fan The difference is 100% commitment and the hidden machine behind
Olly's first season with the players he wants (or should I say majority of players he wants). Against Fulham, after going 2 nil behind, there would have been a QPR team that would not have fought back to even try to get a goal. Yet we did. The Championship IS the toughest division - not so long ago Peterborough got relegated from it with 50 plus points!! We are work in progress - yes the Burton game I guess we all felt we should win but how many people ever expected QPR to turn Man Utd over 4-1 at Old Trafford? Or Sutton to beat Coventry? It is 11 v 11 - the hungriest team will do better - skill and quality and teamwork also play apart. Holloway was right when he said far too many people expect QPR to beat "so called lower team" but we still need to turn up and do a job. It is definitely not time to hit the panic button
Yep/....its a funny old game and league....look at Leeds today!! Imo we are a much better side than the current 16th place but I am starting to see a lack of confidence near goal and we need a win to stop the rot. A few players coming back from injury will help. I just hope he doesnt panic and start playing Smith as we got all our wins without him and play better football....
Tough league - ya di ya di ya.... It's a competitive league that's all. Any team can get a surprise result, but mostly teams with good defences stop defeats and their forwards take their chances to get wins instead of draws. At the moment we aren't doing any of those basics and we don't do 'lack of confidence' well and struggle to get out of a rut. I do feel there is a moment when it could 'click' but fear Holloway messing about with things too much. Injuries definitely haven't helped, especially in defence - that said if Hall could get back and partner Robinson we could have a good pairing. Up front we need to give the front men quality balls and they need to be taking their opportunities better. Next two away games are going to be vital to us and we need to pull everything together and pull out a win from one of those matches or I fear a bad run ahead.
