I seen the highlights and that ref was the worse I seen this season. Defo had a preston pal or something. Shocking he was. Next 3 out of 4 are at home. this is Grayson time. **** it up then bye bye.
Nothing to worry about after todays display if they can carry on like this from today we will fly up the table nobody played bad at all and they all put a big shift in, the foul on Whatmore nowt you can say really straight red end of.
Sounds like a decent performance away. We seem to be putting in better performances away Baz so I'm not sure 3 home games from 4 is necessarily a good thing.
Crowd at home turn toxic as soon as we concede. We could batter a team for 75 minutes people will turn on them straight away if the concede from the opposition first attack!! Nature of where we are sadly
That's my concern Marcus. I think I'd be happier with 3 out of 4 away, but that's just the way it rolls.
I've only seen the highlights but looking at those, our lot don't seem like a team low on confidence. We went 2-1 down and came back from that. We didn't crumble. There's some resilience there. I still think that results will improve and that calling for Grayson's head this soon is premature.
Apart from anything else, sacking Grayson as soon as it's not going well would show that we've learned approximately nothing about the effectiveness of the managerial revolving door. How many years of it do we have to endure before the fans say yeah he's not perfect but he's not terrible and let's stick by him.
The Preston team we played against today took a few years to build. Agree totally that he needs some time to get the ship steadied then back on its correct path
I went to the match with Rooch and had a meet up with Bri which was very pleasant and I enjoyed your company lads. As for the match we matched Preston all over the pitch, my only issue is that we get knocked off the ball too easily, the likes of Honeyman & Gooch were no match up front against big defenders and a Ref who gave us nothing all day. We played some nice football but when we have the ball we need to be a bit cleverer with it. The Preston goals, a deflection and a hit and hope which could easily have ended up in row Z is what happens to a team at the bottom of any league. Our goals, were well crafted, we could and should have had at least one penalty and their keeper should have been sent off. Why are refereeing standards so poor throughout English football?. Overall I went expecting a heavy defeat and came away pleasantly surprised. SG needs to find a settled eleven and we'll be OK. Really nice to see young Duncan back he can make a difference. Onwards and upwards.
I think the main reasons we're struggling are that we're either playing against teams that have spent more than us, or sides that have played more or less as the same unit with the same manager for years, know each other like the back of their hands and are well established. We're not going to be spending money until we're sold so it makes sense to me that we should go for consistency and give them time and that includes the manager.
Well I'm getting my haircut next week so our luck has to change or SG will be walking on Morcambe Bay (quick sand). Also Watmore seems to be returning to his previous form but I hope no big clubs bid for him in Jan as we'll get ripped off again and sell him for a song. I hope this does not happen - Watmore should not be sold imo if we are to progress.
Only conceded 3 goals at home this season, and are in the playoffs with 20points after 11 games. Doing pretty well if you ask me.
I'm just glad we showed a lot of fight, and some guile. More importantly he went four at the back If he can get a consistent defensive set-up ( Inc Oviedo at left back, not a square peg) , there's enough ability in the rest of the squad to stay in games, and win some. ... and keep us well out of trouble.
Get that a lot this season from opposition fans hence the #teamslikepreston thing on Twitter, just keep proving people wrong by upsetting the apple cart. Long may it continue
