I booked Thu Friday off and could of done Wednesday but 2 sickies followed by holiday would appear suspect during this current climate
£73 for a polyester / nylon t shirt on the price label...Grabban on the back! That ties up all the loose ends nicely.
During the last international break, DF turned us from 'soft underbelly' into a 'tough nut to crack'. Oodles of credit for that, imho
Maddison was also MotM for SkySports, again followed by Jerome, both of whom were interviewed afterwards.
Came to this late, as always, but watched this live earlier and just wanted to say what a great performance. Obviously I'm not as eloquent as Duncan, but just felt this was a team in the ascendancy playing with so much confidence. The outcome was never in doubt, and I'm feeling pretty good about my team right now.
Great to see JM was MotM for all the pundits. You have to wonder what AN could have done differently had he not exiled him North of the border. AN wanted him to go back in the New Year, but he said he'd rather stay and fight for his place ....
Watched the game on the box too and was mightily impressed by us. Starting to look like a real unit. JM was brilliant, and I thought Pinto was class too. As Gandy said above, the outcome was never in doubt. OTBC
But had Maddison been a selection option, maybe Naismith wouldn't have had the complete run of the place - I'm convinced if he'd broken his leg, AN would have put him out there every week in a wheelchair if necessary <TeachersPetsNotAllowedAtThisClubPlease>
Was going to go to this game but trust the nearest one to me all season to be on the telly! Overall quite impressed with the pressing, the organisation and everyone knowing what they were doing. This may sound a weird thing to say but I remember seeing a coach who used to watch practice games and periodically blow the whistle. He would then ask each player precisely what they were doing at that moment - inadequate answers got the hairdryer treatment. Happily I reckon our team would have passed this test yesterday. Keeping this unit together in January is a test yet to come Just imagine asking som of our players from the past what they were doing (Grabban?) P.S what on EARTH are we going to do with Naismith now??? I reckon most people on this forum are more likely to get into the first eleven than him!!
Great post OxCanary - shame you didn't get to go. Regarding naismith, we know he's injured at the moment but there will be times when it just isn't going to work playing Maddison and Hoolahan in the same team - especially if DF persists with 2 DMs. Maybe Naismith could come in for one of them on occasion? But I get the impression Farke is a horses for courses type of guy and won't push Naismith out wide just to be seen to crowbar him into the side - unlike his predecessor If he is surplus to requirements (the rest of the leagues, not just NCFC, it seems, judging from lack of interest in him over the summer) we'll have to do an RvW and dispose of him for peanuts just to get those obscene, rarely-earned-for-a-great-shift wages off the bill that is meant to be reducing in size.
I think If you asked Grabban recently what he was doing after the whistle was blown?he would've said scoring my second goal against you.
OK FML, I've just caught up with PD's player ratings on Archant and oddly enough, JM gets an '8.5', so only just below the 'Read Norwich' rating. Just read Gary Gower's article on MFW - cracking read as usual - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...l-not-a-dream-and-the-tide-has-indeed-turned/
