We looked miles better with Boufal at number 10, be nice if we could actually start a game with him there.

We had 2 shots on target in that second half, with all that possession. Just goes to show it means nothing.

    Shambolic!
FF the great liability he is was at fault for their second goal. stuck on his goal line as ****ing usual and didn't come for the ball at the beginning of the break.
Saints make me so ****ing angry at the moment I could ****ing scream! Pathetic going forward clueless, one dimensional and predicable. They never mix it! Was laughing at the end, league two football being served up was the most threatening perhaps MP2 needs to take note! Fancy football with no end product!
Ratings to come later and they won't be good but I need to calm down first! lol
****ers the lot of them excluding Yoshi! lol

I predicted a 13th place finish, I always do and haven't been right yet.

Yet to see a decent 90 minute performance in 8 competitive matches or so under Pellegrino...

The time to pull our hair out was after the Swansea game. I didn't get then, and I still don't get now, why so many people were positive after that game. You cannot miss that many chances, on the back of the previous year, and be in any way happy. Last season we started the same, and rather than goals duly arriving after a while, instead the chances dried up. Things became worse, not better (other than Gabbi's immediate purple patch, which you could argue ultimately kept us in the division). Shock horror, it's repeating.

I cannot see how MP can justify not playing 5-3-2 or 4-4-2 against Newcastle. We cannot continue with one up front. And then in due course, come January, Les actually needs to do his job again. He failed in the summer (again), and in my view should have paid the price for it. No way, no way, can he be allowed to fail again in January.

We only saw a few under Puel and he had more attacking options.

Let's start with Wesley, JWP, Boufal and Gabbi in the next match, im sure that we will see more chances created and possibly converted too.

Very pleased with Forster, Cedric, Lemina and Romeu atm.

Was at that match and have to admit I was really annoyed at full time.

For the love of god play two strikers.

If you are going to start with Long, you need Gabbi or Austin to start as well.

Same. Not buying attacking players after struggling last season is going to cost us again.

This. Long cannot be in his own, it just doesn't work. There's is no chance to link up play, it's just hopeful through balls.

I completely agree! MP2's tactics of just repeating the same old same old will have him sacked before long but really it's Reed's fault for failing yet again!
MP2 has to change the system otherwise it's good night Vienna!

And in many ways, that makes it worse. There is so much good in this team. Very early days still, but the back line has the potential to be as good as under Poch/Ron at it's best, and likewise Lemina-Romeu compared to Morgan-Wanyama.

But the board have let us down horribly. And sadly the new manager has left a lot to be desired so far, largely through a resistance to try something different. Possibly the first time in living memory that I am happy to see an international break arrive.

I don't really see a huge difference finishing 8th or 17th, don't get into Europe and still retain PL status. Cups are the best we could hope for this year, and unfortunately we only have one of them left (and it is the one teams actually care about so we have less of a chance in it).

MP needs to use the 2 week International break to work on a new system. We know he used a variety of them last season, and we have the personnel at the back etc to play it. If he doesn't change anything, I think I'm done with this season already.

Do the same thing expect the same outcome.

    Week after week.

Maybe one day boufal will get a run of 20 games like some of the others....

Not sure how you can work on a new system when the players aren't there?
