Looking at the stoke team, with berahino up front for them i think it was the right call to have Yoshida in. Maybe MP2 will bring in Hoedt on as soon as they bring crouch on.
Concourse is absolutely ****ing bouncing. Bringing back league one songs for players including Wotton, Rickie, Barnard and Rickie COME ON SAINTS!!
No gab again. Lets hope those playing can suddenly shoot. Amazing how those that fail to score week after week are never dropped.
I think its because of his hold up play tbh. His pace and high jumping means he is far more likely to get to a ball we ping up top than anyone else we have, so it seemed to stick more. we were really lacking that against watford. Weirdly i think he may be the closest thing to a target man we have. I'm just guessing though.
Why I would have Long as a winger that cuts in and Gabbi the striker that stays in the box. I like Long, but part of his play means he isn't in the box much. Which umm strikers should be.
I did wonder earlier whether Virgil might be more confident playing alongside someone he knows a bit better than Wesley. I think Maya was actually the only option, at least for Virgil's first game back. Tough on Wesley, and Jack of course also, but that's life in a PL club I guess.
Indeed. There's every reason to question why Gabbi isn't in the team, but (in my view) there is absolutely no reason to be questioning why Long is in the team. He thoroughly deserves his place.
Think Long is good for away games as his pace is effective on the counter, agree that he should've played on the right though so there is a box threat
I read a stat, earlier, saying that 10 of the 11 Premier League goals (is that all we have managed against them?) we have scored against Stoke, have been scored in the first half. So, not looking good if we don't find the net inside the first 45 minutes, unless we can break the historical trend.
What was that stat about not scoring in a year and a half? . I didn't catch the first part of it. * edit: was Saido
