Just think that while undoubtedly I want to see Gabbi back in the side, I think Shane offers us something different too and could give Gabbi some desperately needed support. How we do that is for mp to determine but I would like to see them both start. Got a funny feeling Virgil might start today.
I think so too. And with OR & ML next to each other, we have enough solidarity to take a little risk. We must ask questions of Stoke, we won't get away with a one chance Palace again.
Long for Redmond with Gabbi as MP's 1. I think it would work & use Nathan as impact sub when Shane is burnt out.
I agree, but I'd play JWP on the right of the 3 with Davis in the middle and Long on the left. One of Tadic and Redmond as impact sub later on. Question is, who do you drop for Virgil? Is Hoedt experienced enough to bring Virgil back up to speed or should Maya do that? We'll win whoever we play though. I'm flying back to Bristol while the match is on, and Saints always win when I can't follow the game!
2 weeks ago I'd have agreed regarding Tadic, but feel he's been much improved in the last two games. History shows us I think that you don't drop him while he's just finding form either as it will kill his momentum. I'd still quite like to see 3 at the back tried soon tbh.
Gabbi should be playing. It is not his fault his team mates can't see his runs. He makes the best runs for a forward we've seen for years and it's MP2's job to work out how to get someone to put the ball where he is running. Someone alongside him, or at least much closer to him, could help. Perhaps try Shane taking the battering.
It does show what a mess we are with our attacking four, no one person seems to have the same choices Its a shame because we are so strong now with our back six Just goes to show
You could also argue that's it's a nice dilemma to have. As much as we moan I bet half the PL teams would like our options, just have to get them clicking.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-made-favourites-sign-premier-11261694 Wouldn't be another subtle attempt to unsettle us before the game perhaps?
It's ****ing grim oop North. Jus over 3 hours with two stops is a bloody good run mind. Any ideas on numbers sold?
Agree with Gary, my change would be Gabbiadini for Redmond. I'd probably have Long through the middle and Gabbi play(a la Jay Rod) as a faux wideman, looking to get in the box at every opportunity. Not read the Redmond thread that has gone up, but I think only his work rate has kept him in the side up until now. If we have a Romeu/Lemina/Davis midfield then that work rate becomes less important for that role.
It isn't his fault, but if we can't play to his strengths, that makes those strengths rather useless for us at the moment. And it also seems to me that our game improved when Long got in the team so he may be a better fit for us for the moment. Though I'm all for replacing Redmond with Manolo, as others have already suggested.
