I cannot say that I expected Winter to line up. She was also entered in the 10 furlong Prix de l’Opera. Some might think that Ryan would have chosen the other grey Classic winner, who was at least proven to stay. I like Winter over a mile and over ten furlongs but I have my doubts that she will stay and on the official ratings she has quite a lot to find with Enable; and she also had tougher races the last twice.
Didn't know where to put this so its here. I have it from a very reliable source that I can't divulge. That profitable wins the abbye on Sunday. He's been burning up the gallops and did an amazing piece of work on Wednesday. The ground will be in his favour and at around 16/1 looks good value.
Whilst welcoming the inside info about Profitable, you should just be looking at the place pool on the PMU. It was best-priced 16/1 each way a fifth the odds 1-2-3, which is 11/10 for a place to a British each way punter throwing away their win stake. There is no “top 3 finish” market on the race on Oddschecker as I write and the 16/1 is gone. The horse has run four times this term. Last time it was sixth in the Nunthorpe behind two of his Abbaye opponents. All three other races it was runner-up and two of the winners are in the Abbaye. First time out in a Group 3 in France it was beaten by Signs Of Blessing in receipt of weight and the third that day Finsbury Square re-opposes on better terms. Plus the Abbaye is the sixth race on the card so the ground could be very chewed up by then. I am finding it very hard to get enthusiastic about this year’s Arc day card from a betting point of view. I may do Masar to beat Ballydoyle filly Happily in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere – or just do the reverse forecast – as it won the Solario with plenty in hand.
Can Enable become the first English or Irish 3 year old filly to win the race? Is she value at a toss of the coin against 17 others? According to Gosden, he'd be happier if the race was at Longchamp where the width of the track would better suit her. And was the King George her Everest? Every sport needs a champion, and Enable is about the only horse in the race who could earn that title. Could we say the same of any other winner? I doubt it, so I hope she can get the job done. But it's a huge ask at a horrible price.
The price is only relevant if you are punting on the race Cyc. She is a great filly and I hope she wins by a street (and for all I care she can be odds of 1-3 which I would see as a true reflection of her superiority). She’ll piss it mate
He'd have a better chance on quick ground for sure. Then there's the way Enable put him in his place at Ascot. He still seems to be improving though, that would be the reason to hope for an upset. And there are good reasons to oppose Enable; despite the excellent record of 3yold fillies in the race, all the winners have been 3yold French fillies, who have had the race as their primary target all seasom.
Well done enable but I'm not convinced the best horse won. Brametot was cruising coming round the bend and was boxed in on the rail by the balydoyle horse, was upside enable with nowhere to go and ended up running on. The winner was class ridden by a class jockey?
No sorry necessary mate it was good of you to pass on the info and i'm sure some people will have played it ew anyway given the price
