As it seems we will be saving £45k a week in a certain area of the club that had been potentially locked away for at least the next two years could we not use a portion of this cash to reinvest in pushing our youth setup and hopefully getting some homegrown talent through instead of paying out millions on has beens and never will be. Thoughts?
Surely the point in a youth policy is to invest now and reap the rewards in years to come not spend big amounts now on individual players for short term gain. Seems we are missing an opportunity with our current financial stability to build a healthy cheaper future for the club.
I assumed from his "paying out for has beens and never will be's" was referring to our current situation. I think it would be a good idea to set up a proper academy, we have the massive area to pick kids from.
Im assuming we will have to make some sort of payout so wouldnt expect us to be saving that kind of money
From the sounds of it, we aren't reinvesting any of the money. It's just been wiped off the wage bill to keep costs down.
