The Home Office is still sending out letters telling lawfully resident immigrants in Britain they must leave the country, a month after the home secretary had to apologise for “an unfortunate error” in mistakenly informing 100 EU nationals that they faced possible deportation. The Home Office had to issue a further apology on Monday to a research scientist, who received a letter out of the blue on Friday telling him his driving licence was being revoked and he “should take steps to leave the UK immediately”. With this sort of thing going on what confidence can EU nationals have about the ability of the UK to get things right. 3 million living and working in the country, yet this sort of nonsense continues. Still no idea from the government what they are doing. Amber Rudd seems to be following in the footsteps of her predecessor, hopeless.
Read around a bit more and you will see that even the most ardent Brexiteers are losing confidence in the shambolic government to deliver. It has been hard for some of them, some still blame the EU, but the real fury is being turned on the Tories.
There is certainly more realisation that the EU negotiators have been instructed to make sure no progress is made so it ramps up pressure. Time for the UK to walk away from this charade.
Shame really that some people in the UK believe that because they want something they are entitled to have it. Life has moved on, and there is not an Empire any more. There is a good example of what being outside a proper trading agreement can mean if you look at N. Ireland and the fact that thousands of jobs are on the line because of dodgy subsidies. Life is so simple if you believe what some would tell you, whereas the opposite is true.
