News coverage of the Labour Party conference mentioning various proposals. "But how will they pay for it..." comments the BBC (because this is now the standard question) - which is fair enough IF they also asked the Tories how they are going to pay for their spending proposals. How is HS2 to be paid for? How is the bribe to the DUP going to be paid for? etc etc. But they don't. So the impression given is that Labour can't be trusted with spending but the Tories can be. Not balanced journalism.

Shouldn't that question be asked about Laura Kuntessberg's unnecessary bodyguard?

For some reason it needed to be pointed out that an image of Brighton Pavillion was shown at the Labour conference

    Can't think why...

Yet so many of the right say the BBC is biased towards Labour.

  9. It once was at a journalistic level - or at least it was left-leaning. However, serious political (financial) pressures applied to the Beeb hierarchy have seriously twisted that around over the last few years.

Did anyone count how many times Laura Kuntessberg used the word "radical" to describe Jeremy Corbyn's plan to...fund public services in the way that they were funded right up until May 2010? I lost count at six.

If they want to be racist, they should be a bit more discerning.
The Brighton Pavillion was built in Georgian times.
It's the Germans they should be spewing their bile at.

Trump explaining the delay sending supplies to Puerto Rico....."it's such a long way away in a big ocean. If it was Texas we could send many trucks there. But that ocean is so big......"
I wonder if Trump knows boats are made for oceans, but he's delaying using them for some reason.
But don't worry Puerto Rico,he plans to visit in about week then all your problems will go away!

  19. So, how’s the Government doing developing those vital Post-Brexit Trade relationships – and in particular the bright new world of May and her cosy hand-in-hand relationship with Trump and his ‘America-First’ Administration?

Well, not exactly swimmingly, if news overnight is anything to go by……
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-41397181

Boeing raise a clearly malicious anti-competitive action against Bombardier for the production of planes for Delta Airlines in a Tender process that they were not even bidding for. They seek an 80% tax Tariff to be placed on the Canadian/UK-based aerospace company. The US Department of Commerce's preliminary ruling imposes aninterim tariff of nearly 220%!! Potentially putting up to 4k jobs at risk in Northern Ireland.

But, hold on, we’re still going to have the European market available to us? Unfortunately, that doesn’t look so good either:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-41397411

German manufacturing giant Siemens has decided to pull out of another arrangement with Bombardier for new trains – and jump in with French company Alstom, much to President Macron’s delight.

Swimmingly?? To keep the water-based analogy alive a bit longer, I would say, ‘drowningly’ would be more appropriate!!

    Brexiters please take note!!

But we are so into free trade that we won't consider tariffs ourselves. China was dumping state subsidised steel on us but we are so in awe of the all-powerful neo-economics that we'd rather take all that than save our steel industry. Even the land of the free has imposed a 220% tariff on Bombardier's exports to them! So when the EU sell more to us than we do to them, one option apparently not on the table is that we put a tariff on EU goods coming to this country, whilst leaving the single market effectively means that we are accepting a tariff put on our goods going to them.
