Watch the replay: Long raked him down the back of his Achilles with his studs. Didn't intend to, but he very clearly did.
May work, but not something I'd like to see in our manager. Youngsters may not understand this expression any more, but it just ain't British.
I agree with both conflicting views. It was just what they needed (Man U), but wouldn't like to see us do it. Live though, I couldn't help but smile when he proceeded to shake everyone's hand and even said to my mate "clever bugger"
Watch Shanes reaction, was he trying to avoid punishment or was it an admission that he had got it wrong and was concerned for Fellaini? Opinions will differ depending on your own bias!
"Just ain't British" - What does that even mean? Like seriously, it just reads like unnecessary xenophobia. Or do you think British people don't/won't cheat?
Yep Fran was right. There are people who just wouldn't understand. We're British we don't cheat or do bad things we leave that sort of stuff to Johnny Foreigner.
Watching it live I winced, even in row FF. I don't think he meant it and I think his reaction was genuine concern because he knew he had caught him. I wouldn't have been unduly shocked had a red card been shown.
I said as it happened to my mate that I thought he was off. I think the ref could (luckily) see it wasn't intentional.
From my memory which is often wrong, At first he held his hands up then he was confronted by a couple of united players, he apologised went over to fellaini and stayed by him while he was on the floor seemingly trying to apologise and then helped him up at the end before going over to one of the United players who confronted him and did that reconcilitary 'we cool' hand clasp thing with him. I thought he handled it well at the time which is why I remember.
Some refs would not consider intent, but have looked at it as dangerous play. Just depends what ref you get.
