Depends on the soil and location. My old house sat above clay... We were on a concrete slab and ground level. If the soil is light they drive pillars (probably not correct technical term) into the ground and build the house on top of them. Have to give the black widow spiders some place to live. Crawl space under my house is full of them. (I never go down there... Poor termite inspector has to though). That's another thing you don't have to worry about... Termite bonds.
So my boots still haven't arrived, how long do I leave it before I go buy a pair in a shop given I have until 11:30am Friday?
Where did you order from? Given it's Monday and you have til Friday I would say order tracking first and if all.else fails leave til Thursday.. .. Oh but you want to break them in dont you??
Moved office today. They're doing their "annual reshuffling" where they move people from one building to another, etc. Such a bloody pain. My new office doesn't have a window, bit smaller than my old one too... Although one of the bigger ones in the building. Still happy to have office and not a cube though. Good chance a friend of mine is getting my old office... I'd booby trap it if I knew for sure.
Finding a shop and being able to do it while working is difficult though, as well as trying to wear them in a bit.
Just ordered curtain poles & curtains for bedrooms, plus the bathroom blind and a toilet roll holder. Stairs & landing carpet being delivered and fitted on Wednesday. Laminate for the entire downstairs will be delivered at the she time; I'm fitting that but need to find time to do it, got next to no holidays left at work until April! Only got dining room to paper (Friday) and that's me done until the new year when I embark on the remaining rooms; kitchen and utility room. Moved in on 28 April so it's taken five months. Quite happy with that tbh. #lifestory
Typical, went and brought a pair at the shop on Tuesday as online ones still hadn't arrived.... got home yesterday. Postal ones arrived. So will just send them straight back
Yeah retailer own fault i guess. Free return = you are late or at least no live updates on arrivals so they lose. Prob better get a good fit in store anyway. Youin the office in the boots with the ladies?
Yeah although I did them up yesterday (once brought in store) and clearly pulled the laces up too tight as it snapped off the metal clasp on the outside guess that's what you get when only spend £18 on them! Tis fine just looping the lace in the hole without a metal bit round it so all good. Nah, these hints are huge and chunky, def not an office shoe!
Jeez, I know there's something to be said for spending less on something if you're not regularly doing the activity but that would worry me about how they'll hold up on the trail How long you walking for bro ??
