Come off it Bobby. For a start I don't remember any promises other than putting us back on our feet. We never wanted a new stadium, we wanted an improved Anfield and they've started that with the new stand. They've invested more than the last owners and they aren't saddling us with anything like the new stadium costs and repayments that Everton will have. In short, it's nothing like the over-promising at our neighbours
Hi JB Just a bit of tongue in cheek stuff with Astro. Both his statement and my statement are about as accurate as each other although it is a sad affair that Everton have spent more money than you since Moshiri has taken over (gross + net) considering he's not investing anything.
So.... let's be clear. Klopp has said. A) he can coach defensively. B) he could write the definitive manual in 2 hours. C) he is sick of bad defending. D) he acknowledged we concede too many. Ok so... go do it. Our expectations were after 2 full preseason and arrivals bought from you list that this would occur. Was that unreasonable? Well let's see this improve now. The front 3 or 4 ok sorted. The rest... down to systems and in England short players on set piece a bit. You can sort one of those issues quickly. You need to wait til January for new player.
Hi Bobby I missed the bit where astro was comparing the two. I thought he was commenting on Moshiri's promises.
Well now you put it that way . You could say that Moshiri has put in great investment, 80 million in the past two years on transfers. A stadium that's being built (goal posts moved already as he promised a new stadium irrespective how its funded and now astros moved goalposts to getting a stadium for free which no one gets unless you're west ham or city). Anyway this might consitute a bite now as we have had to turn this into a more seriously discussed post now i'm debating with you JB and astros going to be all over this like a rash (especially since you won at the weekend) I suppose at least FSG has made you into Arsenal-lite as they promised. Saving up for the warchest each year and aiming for top 4 trophy
Last season was about £20m net, this window I think they miscalculated Barkley leaving so what would have been about zero net spend became the Sigurdsson fee spend. No stadium or even plans for a stadium put out .... yet .... so can't say that's been delivered either. No doubt there's a more feel good factor for blues since Moshir's arrival but as yet, not much to talk about in terms of delivery. Astro was right on them not being able to hold onto their best players though
I prefer to deal in facts rather than assumptions. We've spent over £220m on players since Moshiri arrived, which is more than we've spent in the previous decade. £75m of which is net spend. We were desperately trying to buy a striker in the run up to the deadline btw, which would have accounted for whatever we got for Barkley. The stadium plans are due for release very shortly and the scheme has universal backing, so will happen, which simply wouldn't have been possible without Moshiri. Not least because we had a securitised loan on Goodison that would have had to be paid off before we could move.......Moshiri has paid off our entire debt and added cash to the balance sheet. As for not holding onto our best players, not what astro said was it? The intimation was that they were sold by Moshiri when the reality is that Lukaku had a verbal agreement to go this summer, Barca activated a buyback clause for Gerard and Barkley is still here running his contract down, the ****ing snake
How much of that £75m was the new TV deal and sponsorship deals? Oops... I like how you extend it to a decade. How about the 2 years with Moshiri compared to the 2 years before Moshiri? Oops...
Apparantly that 75m for Everton is more than the 75m for Liverpool.... I heard the tax at Goodison is less than the tax at Anfield
Strange that they're still going backwards though Maybe because Moshiri wants a risk-free 10 players at £7.5m to ensure no relegation rather than a £75m Keita/Van Dijk bid
''promised to keep their best players'' is what he said. I'd say that's exactly the same meaning as not holding onto them
you mean bought him for next year and at a bargain basement price. Even Everton have shelled out more for their expensive players. #nextyearisyouryear
BTW here's when I #calledit before the takeover: The prices inflated but the strategy was clear. And the "debt" he paid off (because he was legally required to do so) was already rolled into his dirt cheap share price.
we are not arsenal lite. Arsenal win things (how many FA cups in last 4 years??) seriously I WISH we were arsenal bloody lite.
You're such a dope lad, we drew away, if we end up out of Europe or in the EL Thursday night cup it's more than little Southampton have this season, never mind feller go and have some banter with a club nearer your standard..... Brighton.
