You do get horse trading, but you do not hand over money in such an obvious way that the Tories did. Cash for votes will not be forgotten.

The elected representatives of NI did their job in furthering the cause of their area, all quite normal. Your prediction will end up like the rest, a non event.

Germany has now joined France in having very strong electoral support on the extreme left and the extreme right. It make UK politics look very stable and politically centre based.

What are you talking about. The extreme right in France is in total meltdown.

The leadership may be having problems but over 10.5 million French people voted in 2017 for extreme right wing policies. By any standard that is considerably support.

Macron is doing very nicely thank you. His employment reforms have been passed into law, and it is only the far left that oppose them now. meanwhile the far right have disappeared over the horizon.

Maybe you should take more notice of some of your posts, but then of course it is not for me to be judge of what is or not rubbish.

Macron is quickly becoming the most unpopular President is history. His recent reforms have been extremely minor with loads more strikes planned. He has promised to get unemployment down to 7% in five years, a paltry ask but one which he is likely to not meet. He really needs to ask his British colleagues for some clues on how to get the level down to 4.3%.

I think you will find that people voted for the AfD for a variety of reasons and that many of their supporters would not consider themselves as being extreme right. As for the left - the party called die Linke is no more left wing than Jeremy Corbyn is. You might like to consider that Germany has been ruled by a CDU/CSU - SPD coalition for the last 8 years - this is the equivalent of a Tory/Labour coalition - is this a sign of instability ? Would such a coalition be possible in the UK. ? I think not.

I'm sure I will remind you of your 'strange' comment in the future. The extreme right in France has been strong for decades, with Macron's poor showing it will no doubt remain substantial.

And if it has been strong for decades why have they never been in power?

What I said is there has always been a strong left wing and a strong right wing in France, much more extreme than in the UK. Germany is now emulating that. To say the far right is no longer there in France is just plain ridiculous, especially when a third of voters have just shown their support.

Ah got it. A bit like UKIP. So popular that they cannot win seats in Westminster and have lost all their seats in council elections. Your wishful thinking is nothing more than a little blip that comes and goes. Where are all these extreme right wingers in France? Leaving the only party that they could gather around, and watching the movement as with UKIP disintegrate. Ever been to an area here where the FN has some control over a local council, or an area where the extreme left is popular SH?

Over 10.6 million French voters chose a political party more like the BNP than UKIP, this enormous figure nearly matched those that voted Labour in the U.K.!!

The vote share for the FN increases at every election. Your village must be extremely remote for you not to realise that one in three voters in France chose such an extreme right wing party. Maybe those around you are actually telling fibs ?

Macron is hated by the left and the right, he has done the nigh on impossible by spitting the country even further towards the extremes.

It seems Germany is now following this long held French trend of polar and divisive politics.
