If arsenal sign one player before the end of the window, and it was either benzema or Cahill, I'd take benzema.

i couldnt be arsed reading all the comments by people giving you **** but i feel that RVP, suarez, tevez are the top 3 in the league and completely agree with your rooney point, rooney gets so many excuses for poor performances and then scores 1 and united fans think he is pele

Fair shout. Only thing that really did grind my gears about the thread was the title and the fact OP mentioned Messi and Ronaldo <doh>

Injured, until last season. Van Persie can drop deep and play passes into other players. He has the skills and has set up many goals.

You can't really say Nasri wasn't involved in a lot of your good build up play last year though because he obviously was. Things like Assist statistics don't tell the full story.

I thought we where talking about last season, and he does have the best goals to minute ratio for last season.

While Nasri has become a winger that gets goals he is not really creative in the Fabregas sense. When he drops into the middle he can be a bit slow with his passing unlike Cesc. Arshavin was more creative then Nasri.

Berbatov and Chicharito were both right behind him in the goals per minute ratio stats, yet you disregarded Berbatov and Chicharito hasn't even been mentioned even though he got those stats in his first season coming from the Mexican leagues.

Yeah no ones denying he's a good player but as i said before anyone half decent would have a ratio like that playing up front for Arsenal. If Bent played up front for you his ratio would match that...Bendtner must be proper bollox by the way :D

I said if he was fit for 85% of the season every season he would be up there.

You know how people used to say 'messi, Ronaldo, kaka' ??? Kaka doesn't have the ball skill that messi and Ronaldo have but he was the best playmaker at the time people said that. Nowadays it would be messi Ronaldo xavi. Xavi can't do the skills messi can, doesnt mean he isn't amazing. If van persie was fully fit for most of the season he'd be the 30 goal a season striker that Henry was.

THATS IT! From about 2002 to 2005, Henry was the best player in the world. He wasn't messi in skill, but he scored a ****load of goals with his ability to just skate past players. Van persie could have been that.

Berbatov i think scored 11 goals in 3 games against lesser teams at home. We can't put a guy that does not even play in important games as one of the best. Little Pea is good but his sole purpose is to score. Van Persie plays upfront on his own and has to link the play and score. Even then Van Persie outscored him.

Think of it this way: 6 years ago, it was 'HENRY AND RONALDHINO'.

Henry scored lots by dribbling past players. Ronaldinho was a god at skipping up players

Van persie was the former. If he could be fit for a season...

If he had no injury problems, he could get 25 to 30 goals a season no probs, but not in the messi way, but he'd still be compared to messi. See what I'm getting at guys?

Van Persie went on his goal scoring run when Fabregas was injured and the team started to fall apart because of the defence and the mentality. So you can't say it was easy for him. Bent can't combine play like Van Persie. He looks to run beyond the CB's and get in the end of crosses. At Arsenal we rarely do the later and when Cesc or Wilshere does not play the former also.

Saying RVP plays up front on his own is a bit of a con really, on the team sheet he does but in reality he is usually surrounded by players almost in a very attacking 433, he's very rarely up front on his own, he usually has plenty of players around him playing short passes which is why Arsenal often get accused of trying to pass the ball into the net or score the "perfect" goal.
