Two games in a row that Tadic has been good. I still can't accept that the right side is his best position, and I really feel that we are failing to utilise both him and that side of the pitch to their fullest. But that doesn't mean that he hasn't been good, because he has been.

I always believe that premier league managers know more than me and other fans. However, Dusan must be played on the left. FFS! It's so obvious it hurts.

Tadic hitting form now would make such a difference to us.

This is more then up to speed. He generally looks like he has put weight on. Maybe him cheating on his wife has made home life not that good?

I thought Lemina had a great game to day too. He has a swagger about him which pleases me a lot. But guess what.? Romeu out-statted him today. Oriol's numbers for today were staggering. I thought he'd had a really good game, but not that good.
I'm never that keen to repeat watch Saints losses, but I might make an exception with this one. Just to really do a detailed watch of individual performances. Steven Davis also a had another good 'un, on the whole.

Indeed. Dusan isn't exactly lacking in pace, so his trickery and pace should get him round the back of a defence out wide. That's going to best happen on the left. The truth is though, he's good enough to do something on either wing, but he can turn it on a little better as a provider on the left. But that also takes him out of the picture as a scorer of goals, because there is no cutting-in that's going to happen.

Perhaps they ought to swap wings more.?

Yeah, it might be worth trying Nathan on the right as well. Dusan does tend to take too long to cross though, got in behind a few times today and managed to have his cross blocked by the first man who was 5-10 yards back when Tad took his first touch.

Yes he still isn't playing fully instictively yet, but he is getting into great positions which is vey promising.

What are you on about? It's like the 3rd time I have even talked about him cheating. All I said it could effect him. I didn't even bash him.

    So nope

Think it's a philosophical thing, which bugs me. There are "conventional wingers" managers and "inverted wingers" managers, and our past two have preferred inverting them. Despite the fact that I think both Tadic and Redmond would be better served on their strong sides.

Don't know the consensus, can't be arsed to read back, came out of St.Marys enthused first time in a long time.
We definately deserved something today,so we all know we can play that way now so looking forward to seeing more of the same.

Such a good second half. Reminded me of when we were really on it with Poch and Koeman sometimes. Reading the game so well, winning second balls, and off we go again. We grew and grew in confidence, found each other, and looked like we knew what we were doing. I'm definitely more hopeful for the season.

On form we should have been easy pickings, I expected us to lose. I didn't expect to see Moanino getting forced to fight a rear guard action and getting himself sent to the stands! That second half was a bit of an eye opener, we had them on the ropes but couldn't land a telling blow. The passing going forward was suddenly finding red and white shirts, somehow I think it is beginning to come together, and we still have Virgil getting ready to step up. It could get interesting before Christmas, as long as we don't get a string of injuries and dodgy decisions.....

I really, really enjoyed that. The first half wasn't wonderful, though we pretty much held our own. The second half both the players and the crowd woke up and suddenly we were the team I love watching. Once we've worked out that we can risk Lemina a little further forward with a strong pairing in behind him, I think we may find he can see a supply route to Manolo. Manolo's desperate runs were the only downside of the second half to me.

(FWIW, the Guardian said that several players were held up coming down from homes in Winchester and missed the pre-match briefing, which may explain some of the disjointedness of the first half.)

I'm beginning to think that Lemina may well be the key that unlocks our performances.

    It's coming.

What do you reckon about the Referee? I thought he handled it well enough, but was he autograph hunting or were Manure players taking it in turns to give him their signature and a tiny bit cynical? Long was unlucky with a bit of bad timing, but the Oscar winning performance by Foulanie got him the card. The unwritten rule about, if there is an element of doubt, give it to United seemed prevalent to me? Then again, I am a bit biased. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Have to disagree there. Long's foul was inadvertent, but it was absolutely a yellow card, and I doubt Fellaini was exaggerating much...having studs raked down your Achilles cannot be terribly pleasant, and he was visibly limping for a few minutes thereafter.

It had to be a yellow but as I said it was bad timing, not intentional, it would have hurt, but not as much as the acting would appear.
