Not strictly a matchday topic, but I'm going to the Vikings game at Twickenham at the end of October (big birthday gift from kids). On a point of etiquette, do they play the US national anthem before games played in Europe and, if so, are non-American spectators expected to stand ? On a point of straightforward greed, I've backed the Vikes pre-season at about 46.0; I've already given up on it but, out of morbid curiosity, does anyone know how long Bradford is likely to be out ?
Yes they play the US national anthem and you're expected to stand, but few Brits sing it. Also, backing the Vikes was silly. As for how long Bradford is out, last week our coach said "One week or six weeks".... so, I dunno?
Thanks, PL. Yes, it was silly, and I know that now, but you still can't allow for your QB falling off a lorry in week 2. We seem to be ruled by a cruel and capricious god.
Bradford is athletic as Nick Foles. These guys will be injured if they sneeze, lol. Pocket pushers.. .err passers are all same breed.
Brilliant performance by the Vikes. Alas, I missed all of it because I was on a train for a lot of the game, and my phone didn't have enough battery to use for tethering. I'm so glad I put Diggs in my fantasy team. I really only put him in because I felt as a Vikings fan, I should have at least one Vikings player. As it turns out, it was a good decision regardless of that!
Vikes are an excellent side at home. They will be in the mix for play offs but will be close. How about those bloody Pats, stealing the game late on against those rookie Texans!
Matt Ryan having one of his horrendous decision-making days again today for Falcons. Honestly, if that team learned how to close out a game they would be almost unbeatable. Offensively awesome, but they do some silly things, as we saw in the SuperBowl!
Good thing we're giving up an away game and not a home game then. Though I imagine there will be more support for the Vikes than the Browns so it might be like a home game.
This season is scripted as ****. Vikes will go close but ultimately miss out on the play offs because of some ridiculous play in the last game, proving once again they are the most cursed team in all of sport. The Packers will make the play offs instead. The Packers, despite being **** in virtually ever position apart from QB, will make it to the Superbowl, hosted at the Vikings new stadium for the first time, and win it in the Vikings home town. If you can get odds on Packers winning the NFC north and the superbowl as a double then take them, the scenario above will 100% happen.
Mike Glennon made the Packers look good. Or the Bears D made Randall Cobb look like a world class receiver...
Cook out for the season after tearing his ACL on a non contact injury. Serious non contact injuries are so unbelievably rare in the NFL, Vikings have had 2 possible career ending non contact injuries in 2 seasons to 2 key players, **** I hate this team
Unbelievable, i had Bucs at +4.5 and pats win by 5. Nick folk misses 3 field goals what a ******. Bucs beat them on yardage, 1st downs, total yards and the turnover battle but i still manage to lose
