I see we played ok and actually had chances, mainly for Romeu according to the BBC thing. What's up with that? Is Long going to carry on against Stoke? What about Davis?
That was a decent performance, given the level of the opposition. Like Watford, I noticed that once in possession, UTD were happy to push everyone forward, leaving the two CBs with Matic sitting in front of them, which enabled them to cause a few problems, first half. Maybe we should try that, leaving Romeu back whilst Lemina helps further forward? It also made things difficult for Long, because when we did get the ball back it was three on to one. I thought Long did well, today, often taking the ball down on his chest, but was too isolated and ended up being crowded out. My disappointment, for their goal, was that it came from the only move where we completely sat back and let them walk the ball from one side of the pitch to the other. No pressing at all, during that attack. Second half I thought we were unfortunate and still haven't worked out how Romeu didn't equalise. I thought Long was going to get himself sent off, when Tadic whipped one cross over. Looked as though he was going to punch the ball in, but then seemed to remember that he was already on a yellow (could it have been a red? Looked nasty from where I was sat), and took his hand back. What made us look better second half was, imo, getting more players forward and closer to each other making it easier to find each other with short passes. Lemina's quick feet make him look like a good candidate for a game in the advanced midfield role.

Ratings FF - Didn't think he did much wrong with the goal perhaps could have done better but that would have been harsh. Almost cost us with a very sloppy clearance though. Should be slowly looking to replace him. One finger of a four finger Kit Kat WH - looks promising I like his style, perhaps could have done better with the goal but.......looks assured. The other three fingers of above mentioned Kit Kat Yoshi - I love Yoshi, actually played some nice forward passes today and kept a vicious Manure attack at bay for most of the game. Again same as last week A nice warm bath and a decent cup of tea! Might even be allowed to have his feet massaged! Berty - Does he doesn't he? Okayish today ? Quiet? Interlinked well with midfield? Undecided so only a digestive! Cedric - thought that he was the better of the two fullbacks today. Didn't make any howlers! A whole Twix Alfa Romeo - Thought he had a below average first half and bettered himself in the second. Still gave the ball away a bit too much for a player that often ranks amongst the top performers in the side. A little off Colour so a Lucazade and a Wagon Wheel Davis. All over the shop first half and not in a good way, I just find him a bit "meh" and think why the board thought we didn't need to upgrade him. Improved second half before being subbed. Dislike him so a slap around the face with a wet fish! Lemina - Same as last week, could say even better ( please take note Ginger Cod face ) Stand out player on the pitch. MOTM again by a country mile. A Yorkie bar of his choice plus a cup of English breakfast tea and a rub down with a nice warm towel. NR - Was he playing in the first half? F*ck a Duck this lads gone backwards this season! Improved second half but that was easy considering how ****e he was in the first! A smack round the arse with a rolled up copy of the Echo and told to pull his finger out! Tadic - much the same as NR really...... his pinning obviously. Think he's lost a lot from previous seasons and am beginning to have my concerns about him! Chased around changing room with a big stick and told same as above!!! Long - just a sigh.....nothing more than a deep heavy sigh. You can't not like the bloke just for the sheer effort but to be brutally honest doesn't look like he could score in a month of Sundays. He just leaves me numb........ Subs - Gabbi must be wondering what the ****s happened! Feel sorry for the bloke. Austin - Looks Fat and not much more than a Sunday league player! His touch has gone to ****e too! JWP - Schoolboy ......apart from set pieces doesn't anything more than Ginger Cod Face......sigh MP2 - Stuck a rocket up their collective asses obviously at half time and got them going better in the second period. Must say I'm not sure of his starting line-up and beginning to doubt that he actually has a Scooby on how to stop our goal scoring drought! Time will tell but he wont have that long to turn things around..........still concerned.
Have you watched the last two games, performance wise, or just seen highlights/scores? We've been steadily getting better, as MP gets his ideas across and puts it into practice. Clear to see we are getting better each week.
For what it's worth I thought both Davis and Tadic had good games today (and I've been a critic of both recently).
Ahree, mostly, but Long played well. What chance did he miss? A couple of headers which he at least got himself on to?
Dreadful 1st half performance cost us the match. Great 2nd half but still cannot shoot. Same old problems and struggling to understand what we are trying to do in order to create. Lemina excellent.
Just reading a United forum. They're all complaining that Pawson was giving everything to us!!!!!! Wow, they must be used to being REALLY spoilt!
