Just don't take the foot off the gas Saints. we need energy like that even against teams that aren't Man United.
Yeah played well. Just felt Long was isolated, a little too much. Nice to see the midfield pushing forward more, in the 2nd half. Plenty for MoPo2 to work on.
IMO this was our best performance this season. We made a serious title contender park the bus for the most of the second half.
OK, we lost, but that was actually quite enjoyable, to be honest. Lemina has another great game, and incidentally, what an ability to drop a shoulder at speed. Still missing an intelligent big central striker like Lambert or Pelle. But the signs were there today of an ability to play through a good defence.
We failed to score but that was mainly down to bad luck today. No complaints about today's performance. Just one moment of defensive slackness cost us.
Tough to score against United but another goalless game to add to the list. Certainly going to be a dull season goals wise
No probs. First time I've used them after seeing it on here the other day. Might be my new regular go to site for streaming.
Didn't see or listen, keeping the defecit to 1 goal is actually good though. Utd average 3 goals a game, so we are 3x as good as our competitors.
The media say ManU won without playing well. Well let's turn that lazy logic around. Here's an example: Saints would have scored but ManU made it very difficult for them to do so. Does that mean that Saints didn't play well.? Well, yes, in a way because we didn't score. In that same way. Saints less successfully couldn't stop ManU from scoring but stopped them playing well as they have been recently. The truth is, good teams don't suddenly decide they are not going to play well. They are prevented from playing well.
Not read comments, but my thoughts below then will read. I love Lemina. If I didn't spend so much loving time on Lemina, Hoedt would get a lot of my love. We were very, very unlucky not to get anything there. I feel very proud of the team. I love Lemina. They had one real chance and it was a goal. I mean it was a foul, then a header, then a great save, then a goal. The referee and assistants were embarrassingly bad, and I do try and give them the benefit of the doubt. I love Lemina. VVD reception was mixed when warming up, he had a wry smile at the reception. There's really no point booing him though. I love Lemina. Big point here - What we gain in energy having Shane starting, we really lose in up top movement. He had a good game again within his limitations, but for someone who runs around a lot, his movement is so lacking in that MG intelligence. Davis played a good through ball to nobody in the first half which was crying out for Gabbiadini, but Shane was absolutely static.
