Unfortunately it's not up to you where we are in the standings You don't get to be in the top ten richest clubs in the world by being irrelevant.
Just had a look and it's not front page on BBC via my computer Guess what is though .... Liverpool and utd warning in Russia.
the reality is if LFC want to sack someone like klopp it would be a huge story in england... and in germany... and i nthe far east but it'd not be a big story in spain or italy.
That's something else isn't it - those HYS on BBC. Anything Liverpool related, the number of replies is through the roof - why? Because everybody has got something to say about us. Just read a few of those comments and reminded myself that we had a similar start last season to Everton's this. First five games included Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea all away and Leicester current champions at home - we came out of it with 10 points.
would they really even bat an eyelid? I eman... really? the point there may be klopp might be the story then not LFC so is klopp bigger than LFC now?
90% of this board wouldn't be able to name the managers of the top teams in those countries (outside Real + Barca). I don't think people in Spain & Italy are anymore interested in our football affairs than we are in theirs.
true. that is fair. We would hear here still if Ac milan sacked their manager, or inter or roma. We heard about sevilla management changes here. The question is woudl they hear about LFC changing or Klopp being sacked.
Did you steal Diego alcohol ffs. Of course we are bigger than klopp. Any club is bigger than the manager from shankley to paisley fergie and the ******ed one. Klopp is one of the top sought after managers in Europe. We sacked him be plenty lining up to signow him.
mourinho is bigger than any of his clubs.... in his mind. you are talking about if he were to go then HE'D be the focus. I'm saying LFC wouldn't be the biggest story out there. I think we are saying the same sort of thing here. If its all baout klopp and where he'd go then which of those forgien lands would be wondering who is joining LFC.
The huge amounts of TV money coming to us is because the PL is the most watched football in the world. Surely that means a lot of foreign interest in our players and managers.
Well it is when we get a new manager or sack a current one, the world wants to know. So in answer to your question - yes
Tbh the Prem doesn't try to sell themselves, other than passing interest, to countries like Italy, Germany and Spain, as they already have well established good leagues with strong fan groups and Vice-versa. Only time those countries get interested is when it impacts on their national team, ie the form of a player or an injury. Sort of related Read the other day that Salah is the biggest sports star in Egypt, like massive. That's a huge market that LFC should be looking to use
So...given the interest in lukaku were everton a big club while Utd courted him or he mouthed for 2 years to get a move? Or was it all about lukaku and his could could have been.... dare I say it... smallclub fc? My point is this... is lfc a big name or was it coutinho and Barca that was the story outside England.... did we see many stories of how lfc were a huge club batting off interest for their player? And my real point is this. Until lfc wake up to the fact that we are not the club we wish to think we are and do something about it we will never attain the heights again
I don't agree with that for one second. We certainly haven't had much recent success, that doesn't even need saying. We don't attract the big name players like city or Chelsea do but when did we ever go in for world superstar players, that's never been our style. In terms of our standing - to use tobes word - we haven't dropped out of being one of the top clubs, we're recognised globally and as I said earlier, you don't make top end of the rich list if you're not still relevant. Considering we lag behind the 7 other clubs above us in terms of recent success, I'd say that's pretty phenomenal.
