I'm tighter...i go get fitted.... then say I'll think about it and then buy online... Always worth getting fitted every 5 years or so...your feet change! My go to make 10 years ago are too wide now.... pisses me off...they were one of the few brands that didn't go all looking like neon trainers lol... Yes I'm old and like brown.....lol
I'm generally fit so the distance will be fine. Used to playing number of games of football in number of days so aches will be fine.
I got cold really easily. Always wear shorts and my running top but have my jacket with me just incase. Wear the gloves because if my hands are cold I feel freezing.
I thought the exact same but it's different muscles. I was used to playing 3-4 times a week, I'd been doing that for over a decade too. I knew about it when it cane to hiking up a steep claim. I was fine going downhill though, something a lot of people find harder
North face was my go to and still is for under the coat and hiking trousers.... Got a great deal on an arcteryx guide coat though....its a thing of beauty.. Normally could never justify that amount of money but less than half price..... But even then despite being breathable and light...its thin as a wafer yet fleece lined and because we are a warm and humid place.. you get too hot quickly... Horses for courses
Had an encounter with a rogue motorist earlier when going out to gym Where I live is not a public road, it's like a residents only access road but this woman has decided to park in the exit/entry at my end and there's another one about 500m down the other end So I go to leave in the car and she won't move. I wait a few minutes and she won't **** off so I reluctantly reverse to let her past as I can't afford to spend my whole ****ing night dealing with some moron As she drives past she puts her window down so I roll mine down, she says thanks and I inform her that she shouldn't be driving up here exactly because it will lead to situations like this. She gets defensive because she knows that I know that she knows she's in the wrong Anyway she tries to tell me that it's illegal to reverse into a main road to sort of try and shift blame to me. This isn't true so I tell her that and she drives off saying 'I think you'll find it is'. Why she came up here I'll never know because as I go down the main road I fly past her still sat at the opposite entry / exit unable to get out due to traffic ****ing idiot #lifestory #truestory
Hey ...ive a cheek..for first 30 years I was tshirt man... even in dead of winter...now I play with the right fitting base layer under the golf shirt lol.... Although still can't stand an over warm house....im definitely the guy that will survive a snow storm but not a desert
Hopefully your going with a good bunch. Thing I enjoyed most was the constant banter. Keeps your mind occupied
they're really good in my experience my soft shell is the motili one, wasn't cheap but it's brilliant, like you say, so light and not present but really warm and bombproof I've had the outer waterproof for several years and been up mountains in it, really terrible rain and it's good as new their stuff looks great and works so it's worth the money I think, even at full whack
Mountain Warehouse are worth a shout out as well, they make some lovely, very reasonably priced fleeces and jackets
Me....only bit of mountain walking in badly designed for... Luckily I had a now dearly departed awesome rock climbing girlfriend who taught me its better to run/trot downhill as it's easier on the knees... It's true....although...before I get sued by B...not in the dark and ....descent is still the most dangerous bit as yer tired....
Yeah, there's going to be like 200 odd people but we're in a group of 4 and going to be a massive laugh. Saturday night base camp, camp fires, music, food... going to be right laugh.
I annoyed the others I was with because I was jumping and skipping down hill whilst telling them to hurry up. Shame the same couldn't be said for the claims...
Yup...my first buy was a now too heavy waterproof...but it's bombproof as you say...except when climbing I caught the elbow in gear an small tear... out of 5 year warranty but they sent me the waterproof patches.....literally almost can't see the join...
Descending can be feckin dangerous if you're loaded up with any kind of long-stay pack on your back, once the momentum gets you it's hard to slow down again I'm going hiking on Sunday but will thankfully just have a day sack on
Sound obvious but don't drink too much, hiking up a steep climb sweating your bollox off with a banging hangover isn't nice
