Classic jinx setup# Our 3rd team had a quite a few first teamers in it and we were outplayed in the second half. Consequence being our 3rd team (2nd really) is now ****ing redundant till January! TBF, both teams will be greatly changed and it's hard to tell what will happen. They have had a tough start and need a result. We need a result as badly. We will create plenty but can we finish enough of those chances? They are very dangerous on the break (if Vardy plays) and good at set pieces so we are bound to concede. Could be 2-2 or 3-2 type of result.
There aren't many always letting us down, luv, and I seriously doubt there'll be that many changes. The team that "let us down" on Tuesday bore little relation to the one that drew against Burnley. Only 3 (I think) were starters in both games, so the solution is not so simple. We were all over Leicester in the first half but couldn't turn the dominance into goals. This time we'll be closer to our starting 11 and we should have better firepower. You still haven't got anyone in there with the discipline to hold back and protect the back four, so whoever you put in there will be up against the same problems. I know you've got wood for Woodburn because he's Welsh plays for Wales, but I don't think he's a starter yet, unless there are more injuries. What have you done with Salah?
I think Can did a good job when he playing deeper and can certainly protect the back better than Hendo. Grujic would then get box to box and help. Klavan and Lovren do let us down constantly. Wijnaldum is very inconsistent and the Woodburn thing you are wrong about, I think he has loads of talent and should be playing with the likes of Coutinho and others other than coming in for them. Gomez alongside Matip is worth a go it's not like the other 2 are doing the job. TAA is a worry as he's look out of his depth lately but again we don't really have anyone so stick with him or stick in Flannagan. That explains my thinking a bit. Salah should be in I'm just annoyed that he needs 4 chance to get one but yes he should be in probably on the left with Bobby in the middle and Studge out.
I agree, it's not what I think will happen but more like what I think should happen based on the results and at times the performance of individuals.
Btw, I like Grujic but he's a walking red and I can't see him getting too much game time until he reins it in a bit.
I've said the same, I like it that he wants to get stuck in but he has to know where the line is. I'm tempeted to say I'd rather him put the effort in and risk that he may walk other than the stroll about that Hendo has. We miss the yellow card collector Lucas at the moment.
I like Woodburn very much and thought there's a time and place for him and that time and place was Tuesday. But ... he looked woefully out of his depth and was pushed off the ball far too easily. TAA I think is still ahead of him in terms of development and having more time in the first team. Give Woodburn another go if we're up in a game to give him confidence but honestly, he's not quite ready.
T&A already looks better to me than Flanagan ever did but hasnt been getting nearly as much hype. There again, I thought Ibe had lots of raw potential... But where is he now? (Yes I know where he is)
I agree but would like to see him play in a team full of experience and in a winning position instead of him having to come on and make the difference, that's too much pressure for a young player. When we've been in that position he's not been on the bench which is annoying. Start him in with our first team with our best players around him and they'll help him, I'd like to see him play with Coutinho not instead of Coutinho.
I fully expect Milner to start but unsure if it will be RB or MF. Hope Robertson starts as i think Salah will get on the end of his crosses since he always seem to gamble on the ball making it to the back post. Just need to hope he then actually puts it in the net
According to Auntie he's scored 5 from 25 shots, 16 of which were on target. However, have we forgotten how long it took Suarez to find his touch? The first thing is to get into scoring positions, keep doing that and the goals will come eventually.
I agree. He will develop faster in a full first team with Coutinho rather than instead of him, as you say. The problem is then, who does he replace?
I agree, we are being harsh. He looks dangerous and gives defenders a hard time which in itself can create goals for others. He's done well so far tbf.
oh i'm rate him i was in favour of the transfer from the start ,unlike the AOC one, as i saw enough even at Chelsea to know he would be a threat. I'm really happy to have someone , in fact anyone, desperate to follow the ball in hoping for the ball to fall to him . To often we have had a lack of bodies in the box and its has been a problem with us for some time .
I think he's made a big difference. He's taken some criticism because some of his finishing has been iffy, but even if he only maintained his current rate he's on target for 20+ for the season. I'll be happy if he achieves that.
