Would not pick Bony yet...Defenders will run rings around him because of his lack of fitness, He needs a couple of weeks to lose a bit of weight and get up to speed and then give him a go... I would pick the fitter youngsters of Ayew & Abraham With Bony on the Bench as cover......
Fab ............. Fed .......VDH .........Mawson Rangel ................................................ Olsson ............ Clucas .........Britton ........ Carroll ........................ Ayew ...................................... Wilf I still see Mesa as a player easily knocked off the ball and Watford are going to be physical but with good levels of technique so it's Leon to control things for me. Clement hasn't got much option to widen the pitch so I ca only see him continuing with wing backs which forces him to play a back three - Mawson worries me in that format but hey ho he is the future ... apparently. Rangel is a better attacker and provider than Naughton and gets the nod. Olsson has no competition and is an automatic starter. Ayew as provider and 10 just get the spot ahead of Fer. Wilf starts.
One thing that fvckin bugs me about football fans' is that they seem to know when a player is 'overweight', but not the player himself, his coach, his manager, his 'sports scientist', his agent, his mother, his mrs, ffs...
from where i was sitting in wembley, when he came on he looked alert, pacey and built like a bulldog. were you further back from the pitch than me??
I'd been told by all my contacts that Bony looked really fit and sharp when he first arrived back - yet Dai claims otherwise. Dai being Dai I suspect...
Bony's not overweight at all, as far as I can see he's about the same size now as he was when he left us 2 yrs ago. Just needs to get match fit and sharpen up his instincts and he'll be back in a couple of games imo.
now now, dont pick on Dai. Clement only sees Bony 4 days a week, while Dai has MOTD highlights and a super duper HD TV
I want Bony to shine like the next man but i dont think he is good enough.....Dropped by Man city and Dropped by Stoke and never made the bench in the end. He did nothing at Reading and was taken off, So im right to be concerned and tammy is the better option today....
From the BBC site - bad news, Lawro's tipped us to win "Swansea picked up an excellent point against Tottenham at Wembley last weekend, while Watford got thumped by Man City. The Welsh side's home form has been not been great so far - they have lost both their league matches at the Liberty Stadium - but that is something they can put right this weekend. I don't think Watford will worry too much about what happened against City last week, because of the calibre of the opposition, but I am still not really sure what to make of the Hornets. They made an excellent start to the season but they are what I would call a 10-game team, because it is going to take that long to work out what they are about and how good they actually are. Lawro's prediction: 2-1"
