well the quotes on the BBC are
"If you ask me 'could English football survive or be even be better without this competition?' Maybe.

"Maybe we would be fresher for European competition."
tbh seems fair comment and is clearly the opinion of nearly all PL managers considering the teams they put out.

He showed the game more respect than Burton. They should have seen it as a chance to shine, a TV game to show what the club is all about....maybe nick a win.

I used to run kids teams with some mates, a few of our players were signed on by Tranmere, Macclesfield, Southport and Bury, I was happy they'd made it that far at least, it's the likes of them I worry for when I see the likes of Maureen making suggestions that could mean they lose their livelihood and end up unemployed tbh Solid.

Im not huge fan of LC, especially as it's just essentially the same as FAC just without the excitement of non league teams.

The issue she is that it's so early in the season and for teams in Europe (ok there are only 6/7 of them) it's bang in the middle of the CL.

he just answered a question he was asked and tbh my guess is nearly all other PL managers would answer in the same vein.
i just think Mourinho answered honestly and harsh as it is he is probably "right" from the point of international standing.
The fact that last night they played Burton does back up your argument though as the FA cup tie against ManU years ago financed their rise thru the divisions .

But, if there was no more League Cup and man u never won the CL after that with Maureen, how long before he's calling for the FA Cup to be scrapped due to it tiring his players.

Being in Europe is great but it shouldn't end up sounding the death knell for small lower league clubs that depend on it's revenue just to give 4 or 5 top teams more of a chance of European success, imho..cough cough!

How ridiculous could it get? Don't answer that.

Lionesses play at Tranmere's ground - Tranmere play in white and are called the White Army. FA covers up banner 'Super White Army' because it could be seen as being racist <doh>

The Women's international between NI and ROI went ahead without the national anthems being played and no flags or banners allowed at the game, sad state of affairs that.

Man Utd apologist Simon Stone trying to justify and make excuses for the 'racist' Lukaku song.

    'Uncomfortable situation'
    Analysis: Simon Stone, BBC Sport

All parties will hope Lukaku's intervention will draw the curtain on a rather delicate and uncomfortable situation.

The song in question was heard again at Old Trafford on Wednesday, yet it seemed to be in defiance at being told not to do something rather than fans really believing it is a chant worth persevering with.

Some fans felt it was a major issue, others thought there was nothing wrong and the song was genuinely funny.

United wanted it stopped, yet wondered privately if there was any legal grounds on which to do so, which made their position difficult to say the least.

The brutal truth is, however distasteful, other offensive songs have been sung at Old Trafford in the past - by home and away supporters - without attracting anything like the same level of attention."

Has he conveniently forgotten the "level of attention" Hillsborough/Munich songs have received practically every season, and using those horrible songs to justify the Lukaku song shows where his morals lie.

Might be time for our travelling supporters and man u's travelling supporters to call a truce, those fearsome Russian hooligans will no doubt be on the prowl in Moscow.

Liverpool and Manchester United given Moscow warning

Yes, but there are a lot of LFC supporters that follow the team wherever they play no matter what, like when we played Juve away in the first competitive game since Heysel.
But if you go somewhere you know is dangerous you take a chance and hope nothing happens, I hope nothing happens in Moscow and both sets of fans behave and avoid the Russian hooligans.

How can they say they're "undecided" if it's offensive?, apparently part of it is about his bellend touching his toes.<laugh>

Seriously there a lot children at games these days, I'm sure they and their parents would find it offensive when a big hairy arsed manc sitting close to them starts bellowing out a song about a man of African descent's penis.
