Virgil V Liverpool (no that's not a depol joke) will be amazing to witness. They won't comprehend why he's trying really hard against them, and I fully expect one of those mad footy stories where he wins it for us, as their fans cry & moan at what might have been. Morning everyone.
I'm deeply concerned about Saturday. It's the 23rd September and that's the expected day for Nibiru (aka Planet X) either to pass close by the Earth or to hit it. Unfortunately, the people in the know are very coy about the actual hour of its big moment. They might well be given that NASA, the Illuminati and the US Government (oh, and Google) have been suppressing vital information so there's more than a little guesswork involved on the exact details. Suffice to say that a combination of astronomy and biblical prophecies are unlikely to be wrong on the date but the uncertainty about timings bothers me - will it hit before or after the match? Do we go with 3-5-2 as an experiment or for the 4-4-1-1 that's always been standard for post-convulsion matches? Cataclysm aficionados will no doubt remember Rome and Naples Albion beating Judea Wednesday 7-0 with that formation in the big match at 3pm on Good Friday 33AD. Vin P.S. Tragically, I haven't invented this. There are loads, loads, of real people (aka idiots) who think this is going to happen.
So Planet X could save us if we are losing heavily.....I'd be seriously pissed off if we are winning when it hits.
Knowing our luck, we'll thrash them 5-0, and before we have time to gloat planet X bashes into us destroying all civilisation.
I'm out doing Cats Protection stuff on Saturday so won't be able to jinx the result - I won't even be able to listen to 5Live (unless I finish earlier than expected). I expect a 4-4 draw. VvD will score an og followed by a hat-trick plus one from Davis. Fellaini will be sent off.
Most frustrating thing for me about not being in the Europa is that we will generally play on Saturdays now which means I can't watch the games live or on a stream. Haven't seen a game live on TV or been to a single game this season. First Sunday game is against Newcastle iirc sometime in October, no doubt we are away. We will do very well to get a point here, but it is not beyond us I think. We have enough options defensively to frustrate Utd if we are top of our game
The most annoying thing about Europa for me was that it was always on a Thursday at the same time as my evening class so i couldn't watch it and was guaranteed to get spoiled on the train home full of disgruntled saints fans.
Tbf I missed all of our Europa games aswell because of football training. My excuse of "I would rather watch Saints play than come training" didn't sit well with my manager or the other players who all support Liverpool/Utd/Chelsea and couldn't get their heads round why I was even slightly bothered by the Europa. But at least i got to watch us on Sundays most weeks. I really should give up on playing football, eating into my Saints watching time
Dry day today as its Islamic New Year.... have a stash at home however... sshhh... pale blue bottle of the stuff titled after a now defunct named city in India...
