We do have players who can make something out of nothing - Redmond created a good chance for Palace from nowhere when he slipped up at the weekend
I just hope that if we end up getting dicked that people don't suddenly go other way saying we're **** etc. Make no mistake, they're a very good side and we'll have to be at our absolute best to get anything while also hoping they have a bit of an off day.
I was just desperate to not play United after two defeats. As that won't happen, I will tolerate a loss and not moan at all....not much....hardly at all.....no more than two or three times. Promise.
I'm hoping that, come 3 o clock Saturday, Man Utd will be fed up with scoring goals. Another 4, so far, tonight.
I have a good feeling about this game; completely illogical l know but with VVD and Lemina bolstering the defence and midfield respectively; both fullbacks playing well; abet accepting FF is a weakness - but it feels a good foundation to get something from this game. Completely left field from me but wanted to share this with you all.
Anything is possible....they have an off day or we defend with our lives....we do have a good defence after all. Keep it 0-0 for a while and why not....I'd really worry if we score early My house would get a full spring clean if that happened and I wouldn't check the score till half past five.
Dave Merrington talking about the 3-1 win against United where they blamed the shirts. He says that no one (including the ref) was told....is that actually allowed? I suppose rules are different for United. He feels United are looking more like their old selves....have to say I was surprised that some had put United to win the League in Gin With Vin, but I can see why now.
What's all this guff. No Rooney, and he always scored against us. That Lukaku feller. How many times did he score against us. Yeah, OK, a few. But he's crap really. 4-0 Saints. If anyone finds any loose marbles could they let me have mine back? Seriously, when we were losing at Carlisle or scraping a point against Rochdale it was games like this we hankered after. It could be a classic Saints day. All good until kick off. But what the hell?
In recent times we'd have gone into this game with some confidence because we had a history of being able to beat the big clubs. We played with flair and were treated with wariness and some respect. We've dropped off a bit since then....though only temporarily I am sure, but the big clubs seemed to have moved on a level, so we can no longer have high hopes, but sometimes things just fall right. Happens to other teams....why not us. I shall continue to believe that until 3.00 pm on Saturday.
This will be the first we've played a big club under pellegrino so I don't think anyone truely knows what to expect. But we usually step it up against the big boys even if we lose so i have high hopes for at least a good performance. And really it's only the Manchester clubs that seem to have gone up a level, I still think we will smash Liverpool 1-0
