Anyways, what do you guys think your chances of snatching 4th again is? With Liverpool being stronger this year, but Arsenal having all sorts of problems at the moment?

You're probably right to include us in a second group of three, fighting it out for 4th, Manobear.
The title fight will almost certainly be between Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs, so the rest of us will just be trying to nick a Champions League place.

Liverpool have improved their squad with the summer signings, but they've overloaded in some areas and they've only really improved the left hand side of their team.
Downing and Enrique are better than what they had, but Henderson and Adam are squad players, for me.
They may struggle to keep everyone happy and their wage bill must be enormous.

Arsenal have lost a few players, but Wenger's been at the club long enough to be able to switch new people in virtually seamlessly.
If he spends the money from their sales wisely, then they could pull themselves back into the title race.
If he spends badly, then they could struggle.

 

It'd be stupid to rule us out, we've definitely got a good squad and some top players, potentially with another 2 coming in. I think Liverpool's transfer activity has overhyped them and as you say Arsenal have lost 2 first 11 players, with a further looking set to join them out of the door.

I'm going to sit on the fence and say that we should be up there come the end of the season but it'll be close.

After all, failure to avoid being relegated would be far worse than failing to reach the top 4, wouldn't it?

Everyone should be trying to do as well as they possibly can.
Realistically though, I don't think that we'll challenge for the title.

 

I'd rather we concentrated on the short term, starting the season well, picking up points and then later looked at where that put us in the table.
