That's right Ristac, Wood didn't please this numpty. Grot is too slow and lumbersome, yes he's young, yes he needs experience, but are you prepared to give him that chance in league?

 

And add to the fact that he's 19 - he's only featuring because Ekuban is injured - off the pace at the moment and looks very green but for me very much a potential work in progress who is only featuring as much as he is due to the injuries

More the numpties that got on his back via social media attacking him on Twitter at the start of his Leeds career and who were at the games giving him grief, if that was you or anyone else and the cap fits

He wasn't given the chance in the league though, Thomas gave him a good run out in a cup not many rate and had a close look at him. Yes I would go out to win this cup personally I understand why others wouldn't but the strength in depth shone through tonight. With Ekuban out we only need an injury to Lasogga and we're in trouble if we can't use Grot

Actually, was thinking going into extra time, that was fun, matters little now if we win or lose, scared the crap out of them and pointed something out to Wood and Taylor.

What did we actually learn tonight though?

• Sacko has a part to play though still seriously raw, better than I expected.
• Shaughnessy is better than average at 21.
• Grot is better on the ground than in the air, standing 6' 4". WTF? if someone can teach him aerial aggression he's a future winner. Enter the Pontus!
• BJ is a lazy disinterested so and so, get him out.
• We need a Tarkowski alongside Pontus - Coops will do but needs to be much more intimidating.
• Chippy knows Jack Sh1t.

Plusses tonight were Cibicki, Klich , Sako, Viera, Lonners, Shaughnessy, Berardi. All good enough for first team duties which is great news for the rest of the season.

Exactly, we don't need to destroy our own young players, 19 is nothing for a striker against PL opposition, no way should we destroy his confidence taking him off at half time. Give him **** now and if/when he gets it right in 2-3 years time those giving him **** will be the same ones calling for loyalty when he refuses a new contract.
