I got married at 17 first time around, my then wife was 18, we were together 24 years.. She was mature as I was, there were lads I went to school with at the time still building scalectrix and girls she knew waiting to have their first drink in a pub.. The cyber world makes it all different now, in good ways but in a lot of bad ways..
That's wonderful and all, but given that many people are either utter ****heads or morons, it's probably a good idea to create an obvious line that has to be crossed. Being utterly vague about it allows people to create their own definitions. A lot of us don't need to be told not to **** young girls. Those that do need to be told will use a lack of clarity as an excuse.
16 year olds are legal obviously but I don't find it acceptable in the slightest for men in their 20's 30's or 40's to think it's ok to shag a 16 year old girl. That's still ****ing disgusting. If a 17 year old lad is porking her then so be it, but men looking at girls who are only just legal are just ****ing disgusting.

Not an adult according to who? In Japan the age of consent is 13 and in USA 16-18, in UK 16. Also I would argue that 15 year olds in my country of origin are maturer and better at decision making than 19 year olds in uk

There almost needs to be a graduated age range. A twenty or thirty something going after a 16 year old seems predatory and the 16 year old is obviously at a disadvantage from life experience and maturity. I understand an 18 year old shouldn't be arrested for being with his 16yo girlfriend, but a 25 year old with a 16 yo seems predatory to me.

The law. It's a difficult thing to measure because not everyone matures at the same age. There is a biological factor involved. Take the pygmies of Africa, they're not just short, they also reach sexual maturation a lot quicker than taller neighbours (and in general live shorter lives). Certainly 13 is too young. That is possible. It's also possible they are oppressed by religion into appearing that way. I don't know the answer to that.
