I'd say they have done a great job frustrating the tits off c. 30k supporters since around Mar/Apr...
https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/46590/ Article from Ugly Inside about who should play at the back or if we should go for a back 3 of Hoedt, VVD, Yoshida/Stephens. All comes down to the match fitness of Virgil who has now got 90 mins under his belt with the U23s. No one can argue about his quality, so just down to Virgil's fitness. Not down to formation as you would pick VVD in a 3 or a 4. Tough decision to make....though nice that we have such a problem.
I just realised that while I've seen a few of City's I haven't seen any of United's games this season. That fact they keep scoring a bunch of goals late on though suggests to me they like a more open game so I think we should shut up shop drop deep and don't let them in behind. So assuming they've practiced this formation: ---Hoedt VvD Yoshi--- Cedric---------------- Berty ------Lemina Romeu------ --------------Davis-------------- ------Long Gabbiadini ---- Compact the box with lots of height and force them out wide. Counter attack with the pace of long and our fullbacks. Gabbi there to give their defenders a different type of movement to deal with and give long somebody to cut the ball back to. Davis to help out where he's needed like he does. With luck our defence will hold and we can nick a 1-0. I have faith.
Yes, I'm favouring that line up exactly. Probably will be a crap game to watch but that'll make a change for us! Might be one game too early for VVD & that's why I was favouring him starting Sat against Palace but maybe not. JWP on for Davis with 10 mins to go & provides a pin point cross for anyone to scoreCOYS
I've had quite a substantial bet on man utd to win the League this year, so if they go away with all 3 points I will console myself with the thought of financial reward next may. But it's man utd ffs. We always beat them, just like we always get beat by at least one side destined for relegation. Definitely need Pahars fit for this one.

I love how people use 'enigmatic' in pieces about players who are in no way enigmatic, because it sounds good.
I thought that too. My first thought was, "they must know more about Lemina than I do", then I thought "they're not sure what 'enigmatic' means"!
