Reports on Sky Sports News and the BBC suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are about to complete the signing of Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid for a fee of around £10m.

Any opinion on your ex-player and what sort of reception will he receive at The Emirates?
If I remember correctly, he didn't leave Arsenal on the best of terms.

Diarra could not get pass Flamini in that 07-08 season because he was not as good as Flamini. He got impatient and left for Pompey in the winter transfer window of that year. The guy gave his new club half a season before thowing his toys out of the pram. Which is a bit annoying but the feeling about him is that he might have been a hit if he stayed. If you get Ade, i doubt most gooners will even notice Diarra when you play us. <laugh>

We didn't rate him. Madrid clearly don't rate him. You can have him.

Play him, Ade & Gallas against us and all you would need is red & white shirts.

I know we are accused of trying to copy Barca, but the Spuds obsession with Arsenal players is borderline unhealthy. However, don't let that put you off making a bid for Almunia & Bendtner :)

Letting Diarra go to the Spuds would be ironic considering their problems with lasagna

    Lasagne is a great dish.
And Diarra and Lasagne is almost an amalgamation of the words Lasagne and Diarrhea.....

That said Diarra is a really good player, I do rate him - I think he was impatient at Arsenal and left prematurely. If he'd stayed, I think he would still be in the team now.
If Spurs sign him, he will be a good acquisition.

It's a step down from Real to Spurs agreed, but I still rate him and I think he's a good DM with a attacking flair.

He's a very good defensive mid.

If Spurs land Diarra and Adebayor they will arguably have a better squad than us.

They are two players that would walk into the current Arsenal team - and given more fortunate circumstances, players that would still be on our books.

Unless we change our system, Adebayor ain't getting in the first team for us.

He wasn't a flop at Madrid, 89 appearances in 3 and a half years is decent.

It Academic really, but history aside, Adebayor would still command a place in our team.

It is but for me he will not get into our team because the system has changed since he left. And he is not better then Van Persie as the lone frontman.

    Agreed <ok>
But he is still a better option than Chamakh and Bendtner.

Well that remains to be seen.

Sure Robin is technically WAY superior but Adebayor scored 31 goals in a season for us. The most RVP has ever managed is 22.

He had the service of a Fabregas on top of his game and also Helb and Rosicky where at their best in that season. With the service he got that season, it should have been 40 odd.

We had an absolutely fantastic midfield that seaso; Flamini, Hleb, Fabregas and Rosicky before he was injured. It's easy to score goals when you have them laid on for you.

You only scored 2 more goals in the league that season compared to 2010-2011. And I'd argue that Nasri and Arshavin are better than Rosicky and Hleb were at their respective peaks.
