Crikey, Wakey, I didny think that they allowed you 70 year old guys to work 15 hour shifts! I'm not so sure that Phillips drifts in & out so much these days. Last season, yes - no doubt about that. Viera was much the same. I had high hopes for the two of them to be our DM mainstay for the foreseeable future, but O'Kane has really played out of his skin. I still don't know why Klich is rated above Viera, but guess we don't get to see what happens on the training ground. I know that some people rave about Klich, and you don't become a Polish international for nothing, but I haven't seen it yet. Perhaps he needs a settled berth to shine. Who knows. Now I have seen Viera on the training pitch - in Austria, which is why I don't buy the 'international tournament' fairy tale. There is no lack of effort from the lad & he was our only player to get booked in Austria - and it wasn't for dissent. He was simply bursting to impress. It's truly a mystery to me. The one thing I'd say in defence of our midfield on Saturday is the old chestnut that you can't do anything with the ball, or win it, if it's flying 10 foot above your head all the time. Flippant, but largely true on Saturday, and really broke their rhythm when they did have the ball. Anita? Feel the same as you. Think there may be a loyalty thing going on there. Yes, he was exposed by Pablo & their right winger, and perhaps Berra might have been similarly exposed, but I think there are better options than him. Heart says Berra. Head says BJ, but there's something going on there too, methinks. Strange that the lad can play a blinder in 2 different positions within a couple of days of signing for us, yet disappear from sight. Hmmm.
