From what I gather...Lewis is there as a racer, he's not in a friendly or beauty contest. Racing and winning is what really matter. And I believe he has a bigger following in F1 than any of the present drivers, so personality? That has to take back seat bro.
By the way I think Hulk is the Driver of the day....the car let him down today, but he was sure of 4th place until the car started to give up.
Waited until post race to reply, and yes, must agree with you Cosi, I was wrong Hammy is still fired up, what a drive eh. Red Bull arn't the threat they have promised, Vettel and Ferrari etc, no comment.
Great racer, no doubt, but he's completely full of ****. "oh, I was so poor I used to race karts and visit foreign F1 races", or "I'm worried about the planet" says jet set F1 driver with fleet of V12's.
I agree, he doesn't always say the right things or is always politically correct, but he does his job on track, that's what he is paid for. Another thing, Mercedes will destroy any of the other cars on a wet track. The wet races so far, Mercedes in Lewis hand was totally awesome, the team was asking him to slow down in case of a safety car. Mercedes in any wet race this year is going to be totally unbeatable this year. I think Lewis statement about playing the long game..maybe Vettel should have followed that and keep out of trouble at the start. He knew Max was going to go for it and there was no need to rush in there because even if Kimi had ended up 2nd on the first lap, Ferarri would have swapped them and Vettel would have had a chance to fight back for the win. There was no reason to be so aggressive with Max.
Simples, innit, Vettel in the lead, on his own, within 60 seconds of the race start, manages with his immense skill to crash into the wall, without any help.
And his reasoning for title being over!? One DNF and Vettel is back in it. Not sure if it is pessimism, or a way of saying 'Hamilton blew it' if he doesn't win the WDC now. Vettel has lost a pretty big lead already this year for various things happening (some of his own making, others not), so anything is possible.
Just looked at the start again. Max looks like he was trying to back out when he sees both Kimi alongside and then Vettel starting to squeeze him so did his best to avoid contact as he became the meat in a Ferrari sandwich
Today and Baku amount to a pretty significant points swing needlessly thrown in the bin. He's ****ed his championship by being too hot headed. Not what you'd expect from a guy with his experience. Aside from that everything from their careers so far suggests Hamilton is just a faster driver.
