**** - how come none of us has noticed this? In all seriousness, I don't think we're as good as you say in attack. The approach play is brilliant, but the end product isn't there yet. We make a lot of chances but the finishing is erratic and wasteful. Obviously, Klopp has noticed the defensive deficiency, hence the attempt to bring in VvD. If there is a criticism of him it's that he seems to have no time for anyone other than his first choice.
Yeah, everytime we got the ball near the goal we shot without think if passing was better option or where the best place to place the shot. As much possession as we had around their net we should have scored more than one.
I think Klopp is a very stubborn motherfucker ... sometimes a really good thing, sometimes a really feckin bad thing
He had most of the first season, it was only a few games in when Rogers got sacked. You may well have got to 2 Cup finals, but you where well beaten in both, keeping up Klopps 100% loss rate in finals. You made the top 4 having had a massive fixture advantage on all your rivals, and even then you had to take it to the last day to guarentee it. Rogers nearly won the league when in the same position of no Euro football. You played your best stuff under Klopp in the first half of last season, but since the turn of the year you've been all over the place, you where well in the top 4 at Xmas, and then you struggled over the line. You've now started this season very averagely, with the Arsenal game papering over the huge cracks appearing in Klopps philosophy. Yeah you played great in that game, but every other game you've struggled to impress this season. It seems to me Klopp is actually taking you backwards the longer he stays in charge. At the end of 2016 things where looking promising, a strong end to the 15/16 season having as you say reached 2 cup finals, and a strong start to the 16/17 league season. I wonder how you are going to be looking at the end of this calendar year? You didn't do anything in the Cups, you limped over the line for 4th, having been well in the places at the start of the year, and a poor start to the league, where you'll do well to be anywhere near 4th. And who knows what will happen in the CL, though you've not started well in that, failing to win your first game at home, so you could be out of that by then too. Yeah he plays an attacking brand of football, but let's be honest here, is it any more attacking than the brand Brendan Rogers had you playing? This is not even me wumming here, it's just a genuine observation of Liverpool as a team, as for most of 2017 you've looked a very average team, yet everyone at Liverpool seems to be giving Klopp a very easy ride, and I can only assume this is because of his high profile reputation before he arrived. He's living on the coat tails of 1 good job with Dortmund, and even then he left the club in a terrible position at the bottom of the Bundesliga. I just really don't understand how Klopp on the back of that job, has managed to fool the footballing world into making them believe he knows what he's doing.
Well he's hardly likely to say "I wanted van Dijk because my defence is ****" is he? What someone says as PR isn't usually what they really mean. He has to stand behind the players he has, but the fact he tried to make the signing in the first place shows that he did think it would make a difference. Tbh, although I think VvD would be an improvement, I'm not convinced it would be enough.
They will tell you that Rodgers had the benefit of Suarez now but while Rodgers was still there they all pointed out to me how well they did when Suarez was banned/injured. Mane is keeping Klopp afloat but they won't admit it until the next manager comes in
nah y'know what mate i'm not even gonna ****in disagree with you on that, mane is the one excellent player we've got, the rest of them are various shades of ****in **** so far this season, now he's ****in banned an all
Astro got this bit right, he nearly got the second best team in a two team league relegated. They only started to play again once he announced he was going, not sure what he does but the dressing room seem to lose faith in him. We know Coutinho and Can want out, how many more?
