If he's only prevented from appearing in FIFA governed competitions, why can't he train with the team? From what I read he is training with his brother. Mind you, if that's David Silva then perhaps no bad thing.
His ownership, from what I can gather, is in dispute - so he isnt insured to train with us. It's a real messy situation.
He is either contracted to us or his Portuguese team. Not a free agent. No idea about his wages - the legal team are looking at the situation.
This is what I can't get my head around. The deal is either done, or it's not. All this crap about we own him so we have to pay his wages, but he can't train with us, can't play for us is absolutely bonkers!!! I take it we have paid the 22 million for him?
Dont think we have paid a penny, hence the question over ownership. This is why he sat in the stands rather than the directors box as we didnt want anything looking official.
I don't see the problem with him training with us to be fair, that is surely outside of fifas jurisdiction. Its not like fifa tell us when to train or own the training ground.
All to do with employee insurance. If he is injured in training or injures someone else he would not be covered if he is not recognised as our player. With the question of ownership in the air, if he trains with us it is a sign that we have given that he is our player. Nothing will happen til the legal team assess the situation.
I can't believe it is so difficult to decide whose player he is. It's now 2 weeks. I know legal teams love all this mulling over the fine points and interpretation, but If the rule on such a simple issue is so ambiguous then it is in dire need of being re-written. The only people benefiting from all this nonsense are the legal teams and our opponents, and the poor innocent player is trapped in the middle. Absolute joke.
CS said in his presser today he was hoping for an update in the next 24/48 hours. He's training with the sports science dept, Silva not Craig obviously.... Appeal not even lodged yet! It'll be January and we can just register him at this rate
I can only presume that City are making fully sure that they have a cast iron case before they submit for appeal as they will only get one chance at this.
Good to hear that hes with the sports science team to get him ready to go when he actually can play. What we dont need is for him to be confirmed (whether soon or January) and then he wont be seen for another month after as hes not "match fit".
Drinkwater is ruled out all this month at least - would be funny if he doesn't come back before Silva.
Reports tonight that we have been given the green light to register Adrien Silva Vincete Iborra and Silva coming into the midfield add alots of quality that we need
