Thing is, a squad containing Benteke, Loftus-Cheek, Townsend and Puncheon shouldn't need miracles to at least offer a genuine goal threat. I suppose you could also say that about a squad contfining Gabbiadini, Austin, Long, Redmond & Tadic
I'm not one to be generally Ageist but WTF are they thinking putting Hodgson in charge. He seems a lovely fella but I just cannot imagine him motivating me to do anything more than light the fire and have a cup of tea while watching Countdown. I can imagine all his half-time talks start with 'quite a few years ago when I/someone else was [doing something with another team]'. I can't take too much pleasure in Palace's defeat, its a lousy record and Saints fans know exactly how it feels to go so many games without scoring despite having a team packed with quality. Like us they cant get a break or a goal for love nor money. We were resilient, they were unlucky. We were up for it this time and it showed. We created a lucky opportunity for ourselves and SD put it away well, however our problems in the front line continue, we are very static as a unit our attack seems bereft of options there's none of that understanding that good attacks have between them. I'm looking for them to work quick little passes and flicks like we used to but instead they seem to all wait for someone else to do something and it never comes. Ho Hum. Hoedt has been overshadowed a bit by Lemina. Both were excellent today. Lemina the most exciting player on the pitch by a country mile but Hoedt inspire confidence and changed the play many times. Futures looking rosy.
Poor Frank, as many will know from countless posts over the summer I'm not a fan of he, but being bombed out after a few games and replaced by that dinosaur, man that's a career finisher! Back to Holland I'd wager.
He does miss 95% of goal scoring opportunities that come his way. Easy to overlook after he get a winner though.

Seriously, if anyone here only ever does home games at hates how poor the atmosphere has become... You simply HAVE to do an away game. I'm tempted to **** off home games completely tbh would rather do 3 away then ten home tbh. Fingers crossed someone comes through for me with a Brighton ticket
We had a fantastic time! Fans were great today. Almost lost my voice on the Lemina chant, particularly at the final whistle! My missus still has a soft spot for Tadic because he always claps or recognises his chant haha.
I'm hoping there's going to be a significant improvement in the home games as the team settles. Still don't know where all the goals are coming from though.
Yeah was class mate wasn't it? I sent my mate a text saying there was more singing before ko today than in the whole of the Watford match last week... Don't think I'm even exaggerating either And yeah the Lemina chant is quality... Still keep singing it now just can't it get it out of my head! Said to my mate that if he had of scored it would have ****ing erupted It was also nice to sing 'we scored a goal' (which was loud af btw)instead of 'we had a shot' too Brilliant away day bring on the next one I can afford to attend.
