http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11675_7112754,00.html Well it looks like we might be getting some1 but where´s the striker?
Reports on Sky Sports News and the BBC website suggest that Lassana Diarra is on the verge of signing for Spurs tonight for a reported £10m. The ex-Arsenal and Chelsea player, who spent a season under Redknapp at Pompey, winning the FA Cup during that time, is apparently on his way to White Hart Lane from Real Madrid. It's been rumoured for a while, but what are people's thought on this move?
That's supposedly nearly done too, SF. They're mates from their time at Real Madrid, according to the interview that Adebayor gave with the BBC a while ago.
I'm all for it. The Sarge hasn't been the same since his brother's passing, the change may do him good. Bring in Diarra to replace him and we have very strong midfield options. Diarra / Sandro paired with Huddlestone / Modric for balance. Hudd and Modric for attacking play. Diarra and Sandro for defensive play. Perfect.
Diarra is definately a good thing all we need now is Adabayor, then only a CB and we´re pretty much sorted, just hope we can offload a few or the squad will be huge COYS.
I'd say Diarra was. If we don't sign a new striker and I'm sat at White Hart Lane whilst we fail to score against relegation fodder again I'm going to throw myself off the shelf!
I won't be happy with this signing until we offload Jenas, Palacios and Bentley. Once that's happened...
I'd have thought that the Diarra deal, assuming it goes through, would mean that Palacios will move now. Perhaps that was why it was held up, as the reports suggested that he was basically gone?
I hear ya! Icing with no cake is just nasty. Plus I'm hoping that Diarra and Adebayor will be enough to 'convince' Modric that there is 'ambition'. Settle him. Hopefully that Brazilian chap will come in in January, maybe if Crouch heads away as has been reported.
WARNING: NSFW and appears to show Arsenal fans singing. May be CGI.
I'd agree with that. I probably won't be sat at WHL for many games, as I live here, now. But, the T.V. could certainly be in mortal danger.
