9 times out of 10 they are hugely disappointing, why is that? I have watched quiet a few films adapted from books (after reading the book it was based on) and they all lose a certain je ne sais quoi. If you have any films that are as good as or better than the books they were based on, please share as I am coming up blank.
You might not have read this book yet & it has not been turned into a film either. The title of the book is called: **** off jetson by Huth Hope you enjoy
tbh, and i appreciate some might start frothing at the mouth here in anger but i enjoyed the Bourne movies more than the books The movie did not follow the books to a T etc, and i have read all the books and really like them but the films were imo excellent, and matt damon was excellent as jason bourne, a fact that made me watch the films late as i thought he would be shoite
I agree on the Bourne movies, they were fantastic but I never read the books so I can't comment on the adaptation. Definately some of Matt Damon's better work though PS ignore the typo in the title as it should read Movies Adapted FROM Books
Personally, I like the films Never Let Me Go and Boy A (both starring Andrew Garfield) just as much as the books. And I really love Game of Thrones even more than the books so far.
The original books are excellent, although in places can be very long winded The new author is not as good as the original A book which may suprise some as being very good was the original First Blood aka rambo 1 I read the book as a kid and it was brilliant The movie wasnt as good and they changed the ending, in th ebook trautman blows his head off as a 'mercy killing' and then rambo 2 and 3 were just cash cows
Fight Club is probably a better film than book L.A Confidential stands up fairly well as an adaptation of a James Ellroy book considering other efforts The Shining is a far better film than book.
Pet Semetary is a good film adaptation, old un but a good un, that kid creeps me out everytime when I see it. Not got any recent ones as I don't read much these days. Worst film adaptation ever was The Celestine Prophecy, closely followed by Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas.
