When you only have so much time and energy you pick your fights. Fights you have a chance of winnIng, unless it's family or close friends then you fight no matter what the odds are. As for football? Not worth it in my opinion, far more important things to worry about.
Very true. The sad thing is, where there's a buck to be made by some, there's often heartbreak for others. The age of innocence is easily lost.
The moaners that post about the lack of atmosphere tend to do **** all about it. Instead of ****ing moaning, create. Instead of waiting for others to do something, ****ing get off here and ****ing do something. Nowt to interest kids? If your kids are pissed off with football and that bothers you, find something that they can get interested in. I have people complain that the OSC does not do enough every home game and yet they don't even check out or Facebook page to see what we have on. Today we have a crossbar challenge in the Airco, with a prize, Steve Moran interview and the kids can meet Roary. I will bet that some ****er will say " You lot don't do much" Ask them what they want and if they want help organising it, sorry mate I haven't got the time. The truth is, if the games going to ****, stop moaning and get involved. That is what CTWD did and what HCOSC, HCST and HCSS have done, they got off their arses and became involved. How many on here have joined the Football Supporters Federation?
Maybe our rise was the peak for us climaxing in the first 20 minutes of the FA Cup Final, but just as you think all the beauty has been sucked out of it Leicester win the league. The past was brutal and beautiful, so will be the future.
I joined the FSA 20 odd years ago, possibly longer, when Rogan Taylor came to Hull to hopefully launch the Hull Branch. I actually picked him up from Paragon Station, drove him to my house for tea then took him to the University where the very first meeting was being held. It attracted less then 20 people and several of those were supporters of other clubs. There was no representative from the OSC. No representatives from protest groups either although we had more to protest about in those days. We campaigned against the membership card scheme ( ID cards) and for the removal of spiked fencing around football pitches amongst other things. I say 'we', there were half a dozen of us in the end. Been there, done it, worn the tee shirt out.
This is why the reinstatement of concessions is vital. You constantly need to bring the youngsters in because they are historically the ones with the enthusiasm n passion. Are you also not able to attend unless you're 14 without an adult???
This will be coming to the PL I reckon... Durant's jersey - and the shirt of every other NBA player this season - will feature a revolutionary piece of technology from manufacturers Nike. A Nike Connect microchip has been placed beneath the NBA logo, which can be scanned with a smartphone to access courtside videos, behind-the-scenes interaction with the players and exclusive merchandise offers. Durant added: 'It's a great opportunity for players to connect with fans. I wish I had it as a kid. 'It's great for the league. It's fun to see how everyone is playing with it.'
Just my my view Thought it would do my head in not going to City games Surprised how much I am loving following Scarborough Athletic Cheaper prices Concessions Better grub and service Fans who make lots of noise 10 mins to ground and 10mins back A decent pint in the club bar No ****ing arse hole stewards Or over the top policing This might sound stupid but not a massive difference in play and effort £140 a week if lucky to up to £350,000 a week !! Crazy...insane.. Glad I cancelled my membership But will do some away days when junior asks
Concessions MUST COME BACK omega man before you can get young fans interested and into the ground Hundreds of kids at Grimsby today thanks to concessions
Speaking of the modern game, how about the spirit of the game too? Look at this piece of **** today...
