SLB - The BBC used to do excellent drama back in the 70's and I really enjoyed that version of Treasure Island. I also remember a version of Last of the Mohicans with Philip Madoc and the baddy Magua that was rather good.

Those were the days, w_y :). I don't remember LOTM, checking up, I was only 3! I see it had the great David Leland in it - the man who came out with those fabulous lines that Golden Gordon had as his signature "Shorts don't matter" etc.

The Beeb's classical production went seriously downhill went the suits started to get involved artistically. My favourite **** up of theirs was 'Martin Chuzzlewit', where they missed out a third of the book in one chunk, in order to make it fit into six episodes. It was a money-making exercise rather than one of public service broadcasting of a national classic. Fools <doh>.

so far its a good day for the england cricket team in the 4th and final test and the Oval. So far on the 2nd day they are 320/2. Pieterson and Bell on 109 and 125 respectively. Could this be a white wash against the ex world number ones???

Well i can tell you that Bell and Pieterson are slowly and steadily adding to the score, i can see them making 150 each and then Strauss declaring. That way we have a few overs at the indians today and then tomorrow to bowl them out and another day or 3 to build a lead before demolishing them on the final day.

I had thought about combining a shopping trip with some football at Chateauroux tonight until I found that they were away for a second week running. I don't think that will be many travelling all the way up to Metz.

A spot of shopping then locally tomorrow morning as the forecast is for a heat wave this weekend. A few bottles needed and some more beers to replace lost fluids. Weather for the match at Coventry looks as if it might stay dry.

Monthly lunch date Sunday with my Forest friend. Please Watford give me some good news.

We might not whitewash them, but even beating them in the series is enough for me. I have south african friends one of which is my Ex girlfriend so there is always a bit of banter between us.

That's not certain, we could remain number 1 if we whitewash India this series and we only loose the series by 1/2 against RSA.

I actually got quite interested in the figures after the 3rd test. It would be very close if we lost by more than 1/2 but we could remain number 1 if we win the series.
