You might be right and they might also be occasional supporters who are often quieter. But I thought the Northam and the corner of the Itchen were season ticket wielding rabble-rousers. If they don't make a noise then the rest of the stadium doesn't get going. Our support in those areas has never been apathetic but it can get negative and they need to try and improve the team by shouting them on. They can criticise after the game. Fans are always called the 12th man, well if their hearts aren't in it then we are a man down straight away
At the Watford game the Kingsland corner had a large influx of Japanese (I think) students who didn't get involved after videoing the teams coming out on their smart phones, then ten minutes stood watching the game emotionless and then sat down and spent the rest of the match fiddling with their phones. It was rather strange
Very late to join the discussion but the way LTL portrays this wonderful, picturesque, leafy part of South London, makes a trip to the New Den sound like the trip of a lifetime!!! It isn't that bad, is it?
Sorry I sneezed ! - I don`t see how Stephens or Hoedt (or Maya) could be dropped for VVD. He`s done nothing to deserve a place.
'Palace have to win this otherwise they are near-on relegated. I say that because of the three games they have after this one [Manchester City away, Manchester United away, Chelsea at home]. If they lose this then they could go eight games without a point. You can't stay up with that. I don't think Roy Hodgson will make too much of a difference. They were unlucky against Burnley last weekend and if you leave Frank De Boer for this game and win then before you know it things might not be that bad. But then you have three difficult games and Roy Hodgson hasn't worked in the Premier League for five years. Southampton are a funny team and I think their manager is under a bit of pressure too. Palace need to win this game but I don't think they will.' Paul Merson predicts: 1-1
I'd take a point right now, but I'm hoping for more. But the performance has to be far better than Watford, that was truly awful.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41243874 Saints predicted to lose 2-1 by Lawro and draw 0-0 by opponents..
Be a brave (stupid more like) man to lump money on us for this one. Stopping them getting all three will be our plan. Plan b will be scoring a goal.
With how low the mood has been this week, I'm praying for a surprise*, but not getting my hopes up. *the exact opposite of what I think will happen.
Just noticed that he has us above Chelsea and Liverpool in the table thus far, and moving into a CL place after this game...our start is all his fault.
