    Another total clusterfuck then

    It's worrying

The problem isn't just the defence, it stems from midfield as well

Buying one player i.e. Van Dijk is not gonna fix this

Is it a coaching issue or is it a players not being able to implement coaching issue ??

Serious question, are any of you slightly concerned that Klopp seemed to spend the last 15/20 mins arguing with the Sevilla bench instead of concentrating on the game?

Well his concentration lasted longer than the defence.

Was why my very next sentence was that we need balance. The very best managers are actually 'good at both ends' but they start with not conceding. Perhaps Klopp is starting with scoring....we were, after all one of the highest scoring teams last year....obviously not enough though as 3 out of 4 of our summer acquisitions were attacking players.

As for Firminho missing the penalty. I turned to my lad at that time and said that we'd probably regret it because I know we leak like a sieve. we shouldn't have to always feel like that at 2-1 up....

Klopp's had ample time to see what every person with half a brain can see and he's done f#ck all about it. We have a crisis in our GK's and defence and he's happy with them and f#cks off and buys more attacking players. His high pressing game leaves us totally exposed at the back which magnifies our sh*t defending but he refuses to change his style. He's subbornly one dimensional.

I missed the game but sounds like the same old - good attack, average midfield, **** defence.

Same problems we've had since Rafa left.

I'm beyond blaming the usual players because it's not their fault. Klopp has to take responsibility for picking the likes of lovren and Hendo constantly and not replacing them sooner.

Those Rafa days are a long time ago. Only now do we realise that what he did, given the state of our club, was huge. He's like the polar opposite to Klopp though. Cold and calculated vs warm uncalculated.
Dalglish was the last manager to win anything and he was 'let go'. No surprise that he came in and organised our defence first....sacked before he could work on the attack. Since then we've had Hodgson <doh>, Rodgers and Klopp - the latter two have seemingly bought into the 'we'll score one more than you' mantra of a keegan inspired Newcastle.....they also failed.

If Klopp is our long term future then I'd better get patient because we sure as hell won't win anything until he learns that we need balance. Even rock n rollers only rock n roll for a small percentage of their time or they die (unless you're Keith Richards <laugh>)

At least our matches are never dull. The average number of goals in our matches is now 4 :bandit:

I have gotten to the position that it's not worth complaining as the window is closed.

What I will complain about though is about out attack not taking the high quality chances we are creating. This game should have been long gone by the time Sevilla were getting their second. So until we get to sign a good DM I will only be judging the attacking play.

It's a crime Krychowiak was available on loan and we did not go for him

Klopp will not use a DM how we would all imagine. He'd be camped outside the opposition penalty area <laugh>

The only positive thing is, we are able to get a draw. We almost lost.

    So did they <laugh>

Positives - nobody was injured, we're still sublime in attack, Coutinho was warmly welcomed, other teams in group drew and the Kop kept singing after Seville scored and that doesn't happen often <ok>

It's not a disaster, but three points are obviously better than one. We'll see how much impact it has later in the group, but I hope to God we're not having to go to sevilla in Nov/Dec having to pull off a miracle - we don't have a Gerrard any more in that side.

As to the Klopp thing -yes, it's his fault that our defenders aren't good enough, but ffs: how do you legislate for Lovren in that first goal? And how do you legislate for hitting a post from a penalty when the goalkeeper has already dived the over way when you hit it?

Make the ball bigger for Lovern and the post bigger for Firmino and hope the opponents don't notice

That is a future problem we dont need to borrow right now.

We have A couple more ****e sides to play before that.

Are Seville good or no... answer me that.

Did we draw v a quality outfit.. as frustrating as that may be or did we draw v a **** team.

Cos frankly... we all know the score and what was with lfc this year.. none of it is a shock.

Only when he's avoiding offside - otherwise he's standing on the six-yard line waiting for a tap-in.
