Not really fair, Toral and Larsson were both pretty close to joining other clubs, and Kingsley was well regarded at Swansea playing a fair few games last season.
I accept that crosses are best dealt with before the cross is made. I was replying to the point that there were several players in the box, and still the ball reach an unmarked player who scored. From what I saw they were ball watching and not aware enough of checking were players were when a cross does come in. The problem with a back 3 is that the flanks behind the wing backs are vulnerable, as the centre back on the left side is pulled across to cover. This is just a flaw in this system, and Slut has eluded to this is his post match presser saying we need to change that system.
Trouble is it was Leo who did the chopping and changing. Dropped Meyler. Dio and Clark. There was no need. And if we continue to play growshitski, a forward and Bowen we will continue to get beaten by the better sides. Unless he plays three strong centre mids to provide cover and a back four.
If you get what you (net) pay for then it won't be so much about Slutsky being "tactically naive". I doubt he is that. It's more likely we're just ****. You can't herd cats.
I know and we could all see that after the 5-0 drubbing and yet he continued yesterday. Which would have been five again without poor finishing and a good goal keeping display.
He needed to suss out the new players. Now that we have a decent idea I would hope for a more consistent line up as that will breed success. They are good players.
It's hardly surprising that Slutsky doesn't know his players strengths and weaknesses yet, he's only had a handful of training sessions with many of them.
depressing looking at where we are in the table, but at the top, there literally could not be a worse top 3 at the moment for a City fan
I suppose Dunderland...becomes a must win, or a must not lose game....Jeez 7 games in and the vultures are starting to circle the circle...If we lose they'll be eyeing a meal...
Just noticed Bowen cupped his hand around his ear after scoring. Wonder if that'll draw the same ire that Grosicki did when he did similar.
No **** Sherlock reporting... Whilst the Chelski boys will probably give a monkeys relying on what are in truth part-time players is a recipe for relegation.
I would look for a winger as well personally, because as we have no-one who can play wide on the bench. What about a big centre forward? I really don't think any of our strikers are suited to playing up top on our own. Glad to see Ehab's early summer transfer dealings meant we have a complete squad.....
