Well I'm talking about indigenous"travellers" not migrant workers. I was actually going to give it a go in a Kibbutz back in the day but the music got in the way. Regardless, we're talking about an ingrained lack of respect for others, their property and their environment. Seasonal agricultural workers respect the environment as it is there livelihood.

There were a few gypsy families who had children at my daughter's school in France. They lived on the side of a road for many years. The non gypsy French parents never spoke to them although they came across as a friendly bunch. They made their living selling baskets in the local markets. Most were eventually found houses in the village.

Quite different to the scumbag travellers dumping rubbish everywhere around here.

If Labour had won instead of losing yet again you would not have said a bean about the cost.

You are going into fantasy land again. There was no need to have an election. Yes or No. Labour didn't win, and TM lost her majority. Yes or No.
Did it cost the tax payer £140m. Yes or No Would £140m keep some police officers in a job. Yes or No.

After the Tories thumping win in the local elections it was logical to increase her majority whilst she was extremely popular. She received bad advice from her advisers on pensioner benefits and elderly care, and the rest is history.

If you want to find some extra funding look at the overseas aid budget, lots of money wasted there.

The Tories put the UN target for all developed countries of 0.7% of GDP to overseas development into law in 2015......you're not very good at this fact stuff are you?

Oh and btw the cost of the election wasn't £140m it ended up being £1.14bn once the Tories backhander to the DUP is factored in......

    Let me help you out.
She didn't need to have an election. She had a majority.
Labour didn't win and she lost the majority she inherited.
Yes she did spend £140m on holding an unneeded election.
£140m would help to keep you safer by stopping police officers losing their jobs.

    That help you out?

Seems tonight that Toyota are sounding warnings about moving production out of the UK if they don't have access to the single market. They are saying they cannot keep on waiting for the government to make up its mind what they want.

Oh that we could all do that.

Mind you, I suppose that I have two viable options - so can't complain too much.

Their issue is currently more about planning for new models, they have to plan years in advance and without customs union clarity then they'll have to plan based on the worst case scenario, which would mean not putting major infrastructure investment into the U.K.

You have finally learnt that Labour lost once again, and the nation prefers the Conservatives. It was also clear the Lib Dems are seen as completely irrelevant. well done.

That figure will pale into insignificance once we stop subsidising the rest of Europe. It is clear the EU are not going to negotiate sensibly, David Davis should give an ultimatum to them to include trade talks in the next round of discussions or we will just walk away. The ex Greek Finance Minister has given sound advice to do just that. He knows through experience their only intention is to try to humiliate the UK. We should pay into the EU only up to the date we leave.

Britain is not subsidising the EU !!! In terms of countries which contribute more than they receive back, relative to GDP, Britain is on place 8 - after The Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Austria and France, in that order.

Simple maths - we pay in more than we get back. We are subsidising other EU countries.

Mervyn King is spot on, most of our preparations now should be on planning to leave the EU without a deal.

Brexit news: We need plan to WALK AWAY as talks are not going well ...

The EU has asked us to pay what we committed to at the start of the 7 year cycle which ends in 2020, that's it.

The EU being bullies and not being sensible, booo hooo, you're being played ffs. Davis and Co know whatever deal they end up with is going to be complete ****e. So they're going to play the hard Brexit card, walk off and chuck us into an abyss, due to political cowardice, as they can blame the nasty EU, it was all Johnny Foreigners fault, as opposed to coming back with a pile of tripe that'll have their name on it.

You lap up the twisted garbage served to you by the Express.

I would rather take notice of a former Bank of England governor than your defeatist tripe. You have proved you can fool some of the people all of the time.

You've patently not even read what he actually said, you gullible fool

He said that this Govt have repeatedly threatened the flounce off, no deal scenario, but have done next to bugger all in terms of planning for the practicalities of how we would deal with that outcome. Therefore if that's a realistic outcome they need to pull their fingers out, as we're 15 months on from the vote, and the clock is ticking down to 2019.

So TM is going to make a speech. Yes we knew that because we were told about it last week by Guy Verhofstadt. So has she chosen to make it in Folkstone, Finchley or Faversham? No she has chosen Florence. Now having thought about it I think I know why she wants to go there. She knows a rather nice shoe shop there. Of course she will be sending the bill to the taxpayer for all the expenses of herself and hangers on, but will probably have one of her security men sacked in solidarity with the police.
So what is she going to tell them? I can only guess that there will be the few stock phrases such as deep and special, alongside a demand to give us what we want. All no doubt for the ears of the party faithful so she can go to conference and tell them she has it all sorted. Meanwhile in the real world other countries will continue to wonder what it is that the UK hopes to get.

A random choice of venue, she swerved delivering it at the EU itself as she knew she'd face scrutiny on the day. This way the control freak can deliver her no doubt soundbite laden speech and exit the stage without any form of challenge.
