No I was waiting for a suitable rental house to come up.

There are doers in life and whingers, I have worked out which group you are in. I suppose it is much easier messing about with sheep than doing the best for yourself.

I would also take issue with Osborne over that type of language. As far as I am concerned she is a disaster zone for both the Tory party and more importantly for the country at large. I have learnt over the years that some politicians really do go into it with the best of intentions, whilst others are there for a career. TM has to be one of the most inept politicians I have ever witnessed in fifty years. She would struggle to chair a District Council, let alone one at County level. She failed totally as Home Secretary to apply the tools she had available to her, and has now come back for a second bite at the cherry. She is a control freak at the highest level as ministers who have worked with her have noted. Her ability to communicate as shown in the election is zero, yet she believes that the country should give her more power. Totally deluded, and when the public as a whole were asked who would be better, they said they wanted to see the back of all the current government.

Strange comment, as the Tories had their largest vote share for years and won more votes and a lot more seats than the alternative.

Nothing to do with what I was saying. There were a number of polls, yes you liked quoting them, when it was shown how she had blown up. People didn't see any leader within the Tory party that they felt suitable to lead the country. She cost the country £140m which was a total waste of taxpayers money and was agreed by her mates. Today we hear that the police get a pay rise, but they will have to fund it out of savings. A commissioner from the midlands said that to do that he will have to sack 60 officers. £140m for her ego, or 60 police officers to look after peoples safety. Which would you choose?

Now on "travellers" (aka do as they likeys) we are in agreement. <yikes>
I don't give a stuff about the nationality of any crooks. If they are foreign then, after they've served their time, they can be on the first boat / plane back from whence they came.

I called your comment strange because it was incorrect. The public as whole were asked which party they preferred and they chose the Conservatives, to say anything else is factually wrong.

I would agree on the travellers who seem to create chaos in the UK, but we don't have that problem here. Go to even small towns and you will see signs telling them where there is a site reserved for them. Showers, toilets, waste bins are all there. Yes it costs some money, but it is probably cheaper than cleaning up the countryside after they have been camped out in the wrong place. I drive past one quite often and it is spotlessly clean and well looked after by those who use it.

I think the Tories certainly agree with you on that - this one got into bother recently with his comment on them (1:51 in)

I forgot to say that over here they do pay a small weekly sum towards the cost of the facilities.
In England I was very close to a situation where some travellers bought some land and wanted to set up a proper site as the council didn't wish to do so. Despite the fact that it was 1 mile from the nearest house, the planning application went on for the best part of ten years before they received permission. After it did open the people who were there had a very tight grip on what did or didn't go on.
The woods where I would take my dog for a run were trashed with rubbish and all sorts of stuff that needed a big clean up from the council. It was a different council who controlled the two areas, and the second one was told to have a look at the one with the site. They did send some officials to look and I saw the report they produced. It suggested that a similar scheme could be cost saving, but the councilors were frightened to death about even discussing it in case the locals created another 10 year saga.

Alas not here in Leafy Bucks where one of their tax dodging benefactors will surreptitiously buy a parcel of land, the hoards descend and lay their hard standing and pitch their caravans. They create a nuisance to the neighbourhood, particularly the local shops and whichever pub that tolerates them long enough to regret it. They circumvent planning law and just about every other law. They bring a mess, dump their spoil or scrap, thus at least stagnating, or worse, local house prices. Then after a couple of years living illegally the planning inspectorate finally decide that there aren't enough local sites and let them stay. Professional victims when it suits. I've also worked with several back in the day when I was subsidising my musical career with various warehousing jobs. With one exception I didn't like any of them. So I've seen them in my working career, my local environment and in my later professional career. Can't say that I've seen too many redeeming features.

Not totally sure how that happened! I was, of course, responding to the comment about travellers! The vagaries of Kindle Fire and my apparently useless thumbs!

    :emoticon-0102-bigsm I think I got that.

I wonder if your travellers come from different places to the French ones. There is no rubbish on our sites, but maybe they are the seasonal agricultural workers.

Not really, there is no sensible connection between the cost of the election and a police commissioners budget. Lots of public organisations have had to make savings.

Rot. Waste public money rather than give it to an essential service.
