I'm seriously not saying to get rid of Grayson.....But.....at what point do we say, maybe, he is not the answer? I am for giving the guy a chance, he has been dealt an awful hand by Short, but as each game goes by, there has to come a time when a new approach will be required. Hopefully it won't be needed.
FFS Larry Grayson could have done better than Simon has so far. He has to go before it's tooo late!! Bart
A couple of wins and we're just outside of the top six. Have a bit of patience, we're still in the bedding in stage with players getting to know each other and the manager working out his best formation etc. Most of the teams that we're coming up against aren't as good as us on paper but they have been playing together for ages and know each other and their manager inside out. We'll get there. Artist's impression of Grayson inside out, holding a potato, in case any of our players see it.
He is far too slow, in the previous game he directly cost us a goal, with him and Catts together in the team we would be as well off with a couple of terracotta warriors We can just about carry one, two is two many. No manager on earth could compensate for the individual mistakes being made due to fear and loss of confidence, it will take time to sort this out, and at this point, time is on our side.
I don't care how bad it gets. I want Grayson in for the season. Firstly, no decent manager will come if we sack him after the hand he's been dealt. Secondly, we need some stability at the club. We've lived without success for most of our time following the lads, so let's just get the ship on an even keel and then we'll worry about making progress...
Respect anyone who is still interested in the club after what it's put us through in recent times but I'm done with it for the time being. I'm treating it like I would any other unhealthy relationship and taking a break from the heartache.
I thought that we played quite well last night, and all that we lacked was a 'proper' centre forward. Larry is 'up against it' 'cos we haven't got one, and if anybody was to replace him they'd have the same problem, so there wouldn't be any point I still like most of what I've seen from him . . . . he does seem to be building a team, which will obviously take time, and we should give him it. Catts or Williams were the options for me for last night's man of the match . . . . Catts was outstanding and a 'leader', as he usually is, and Williams was very industrious and positive. I was also pleased with our two full-backs for a change Overall I was encouraged by last night's performance
Yes I do . . . . I was impressed with him last night and I think that he will be our right back for the foreseeable future Apart from the one obvious mistake, I was impressed with the whole of the back four
If we were at full strengh now id be worried but from last nights team Kone and Mcgeady would have started along with probably Watmore and McNair when fit so them 4 coming in would have also created 4 better players to have on the bench alongside Maja who'll also be back soon. Its far too early to panic.
He isn't the answer, he never was, no manager is atm. Shocked anybody was saying or thinking that in the first place. That's the biggest problem with our fan base is they still think it can be fixed from the dugout. It can't and never will be until we sort the boardroom out so it can give the dugout FAIR resources, than it's reasonable to think it can be fixed from the dugout if the manager is aloud time to fully evolve the squad and build his own team. Anybody questioning whether Grayson is not the answer with the budget he's had needed to to start putting realistic available names forward to back what they're saying(Baring in mind even the Aberdeen manager turned us down) cause as per there's nothing and won't be anything other than an half arsed deluded shout for big Sam back.
If you read my post close, you will note I am not advocating getting rid. Grayson certainly wasn't my choice of manager in the first place, but while he is here he has my support, like all managers have had with the exception of that idiot PDC. My only question was/is...At what point (how many defeats that plunge's us towards league 1 and almost certain administration) do we stay with a manager that, not of his own making admittedly, cannot find a formula to start winning football games. I am not putting names forward as I hope Grayson can turn it round (I doubt it tho). I agree Big Sam is a pipe dream, no chance. But the question remains, at what point in the season if things remain as they are does out glorious owner panic and make a change. To put it in to my working life. If a guy who works for me doesn't perform, he would be out on his ear, yes football is different. But the Stakes of SAFC going into league 1 would catastrophic...I don't go with the opinion when we get certain player back we will be ok...we don't have good players, full stop. Life as Sunderland fan is total s4it at times, but I wouldn't;t have it any other way
I did read it thank you. If you read my post clearly you'd see I haven't accused you of anything. Never said you wanted rid of Grayson, never said you had to put names forward. I'm talking about the people who want rid as I said, if you don't want rid why are you applying my comments to yourself? That's your bad not mine. I was only giving my opinion on the things you said, if you understand the context of your own words than how could I possibly have meant you? You were talking hypothetically in most. Getting dog tired of having to explain every post I make on this site. Becoming way more trouble than it's worth.
Don't see them 4 making us much stronger. Kone - He doesn't want to be here and hadn't been very impressive. McGeady - Lazy and doesn't track back. Not what we need right now. McNair - Won't get his game and is an average player. Who would he replace? Watmore - Has been injured a long time, and will need a fair amount of time to get up to speed. He's still very raw though and learning the game. His decision making needs to rapidly improve.
Thought I was the only one who thought that. Said that the the lads behind me and I don't think he can play in a formation where the wingers track back. Would need to move more to a formation where midfielders slot in to help the full back.
