I couldn't help but notice several people who cover La Liga are all saying the same thing: since Neymar headed to PSG to test himself as a player *stifles laughter* Jordi Alba has become a much more effective option as he's able to bomb down the flank in support, something he couldn't do for the past few seasons as Neymar hogged the touchline and nullified Alba's runs.
Celtic are struggling here. They've not go idea what to do with the ball beyond the half way line, other than giving it to Roberts to run at people. PSG are just biding their time, waiting for them to **** up their mediocre attacks, and then ruining them on the break. They hardly look like they're out of second gear, but Celtic seem like they're busting a gut. Could easily see PSG getting 4 or 5 here.
I see Chelsea have a second and united are 1-0 up. Mind you, their opposition tonight is average at best.
Rabiot's pass for Neymar's opener makes me ask one obvious question: how long before we're linked to him for the umpteenth time?
I think Messi's little baby legs are his fortune. He moves so fast,if you tackle him,he goes down, whether it's a fair tackle or not.I wonder how many refs cards have been given to his opponents because of those baby legs?
I have sympathy for Celtic. UEFA are happy to let these mis-matches continue, and even get worse because they are not interested in controlling the mega rich clubs and football will suffer in the long term. You often hear how important it is to be in the CL for all the revenue it generates. But there are certain clubs that are spending even independently of the CL revenue! How can a club that attempts to keep to anything like a proper financial business model hope to compete with such unlimited spending power? I also laugh when I hear the pundits going on about how noncompetitive the PL teams are in the CL, when the most basic and obvious point is that if a team doesn't have to put out it's 100% strongest team in it's respective league, it will always be strong in the CL. The Spanish clubs don't need to be strong every week, and nor does PSG and Bayern (don't know much about the Italian league to comment on that). What makes the PL great is that there are a lot more competitive games than in those other leagues, so saying our teams aren't as good as those "top" CL teams is not comparing like with like.
