Interesting. Sacked off three at the back, good. Catts back, Matthews preferred to Jones, Vaughan dropped and McManaman starts, all good things. I suppose if a CB goes off Rodwell will have to play there which isn't great. Seems like Grayson is learning from his mistakes regarding the formation and seeing the same as what we are regarding which players to pick.
Yeah it's getting close to our strongest team, think it would have been if Kone and Mcgeady were available. My problem is I still don't know who our best rb is.
Me neither but Jones is so average in defence and so dire going forward that there must be a good chance that Matthews or maybe Love will surpass him with game time and fitness. I can barely remember Love or McNair and I've only seen Matthews once but he didn't look too bad.
I'm hoping Love is the answer and he's just not quite there with fitness. Could be clutching like but he's only started 10 games for us and he looked a prospect at Man U.

Love might be the answer, not much opposition there to say the least, I've only seen Josh Robson once pre-season and he looked promising, but none have looked the part in that position so far this season tbh, the left back has been our main concern when Oviedo misses out, maybe a re-think about formation and personnel is needed if the defensive performances don't improve soon, a few clean sheets are required imo.
He's just done a rethink on the formation. I think all the defence(and the rest) need to get over their stage fright and start getting the basics rights. No more poor efforts from the keepers too who between the two of them have been responsible for way too many goals already. They all do alright till something goes wrong then they're all over the shop. I'd Hire Ken Way.
